Silence the Bootie Zipper Jingle - And an OOTD!

First thing this morning, I hear two employees saying something about why I am so noisy when I walk.  That was enough for me.  I had been planning to do this for several pairs of booties and shoes. It's those darn jingling zipper pulls.

Today's OOTD:

Many Roads Booties - by Zita Maria Italy

I thought I would quickly share my simple solution to quieting the annoying jingle.  I cut a small piece of self adhesive foam, just long enough to cover most of the back of the pull. I then cut a notch at one end to go around the pull attachment.  I am sure you could use any kind of soft foam or even heavy tape that will stick to the back of the zipper pull without sticking to the zipper. I used a left over piece of Foot Petals Strappy Strips. It worked perfectly. the foam can't be seen from the other side of the zipper.

Bakersfield is in that weird time of year when it's warm one day, and chilly the next.  Mid 70's yesterday and back up to mid 90's by tomorrow.  I live in a land of two Season's.  We usually skip Spring and Autumn.

I am  two hours away from a glorious 3-day weekend.

Who loves Athleta?  I certainly do!

Anthro and a bit of Athleta Sister Love,

What a cool idea! Now if I can only keep the city Safari belt from being so jingly - but I guess that's just part of it's charm!

I dig the Athleta dress on you - it looks so comfy and easy, but fits you well.

very ingenious! I wonder if my zippers are loud? Crazy that people were commenting on it. I just can't imagine them being that loud.

I love that this outfit is simple but still so chic. It fits well and I think the jewelry you chose played off it's earthy vibe nicely!

Such a creative fix to your noisy shoes! My outfit today was noisy too. The dress I wore has an attached lining that swooshes with every step I take. Now I remember why I don't wear it too often!

Lisa,

Ae there bells on your belt? Love that belt you know. You can stuff them with tissue. That's what I do to the bells on my cat's collar. Athleta dresses fit me too tight in the bust and big in the waist and hips.

Lori,

Try walking on carpet. Then you will know for sure if they jingle. Although it's more like a clackity, clack.

I'm a Geo, so therfore, I naturally love chunks of real rock. Especially Turquoise.

Kelly,

Solution to noisy lining. Cut it out and wear a slip.

Love the Athleta dress on you! Never bought anything from there before but have been eyeing a corduroy skirt. How's the quality - do their things seem to hold up well? Do they put their stuff on sale as often as Gap/Old Navy or do things tend to stay FP?

What a great idea! I hope you enjoy the three-day weekend!

MichelleM,

I don't shop Gap or Old Navy. I was shopping Athleta online before they were bought out. They tend to put items on sale in particular colors that are not selling well or are sold out of some sizes. Quality of Athleta Brand name is very good. Their high end sweaters are awesome. Do not pill or stretch out. But expensive. Sizing can be inconsistent with pants. Some of the other Brands of clothing sold on the website have not been as good quality. I have a couple of the fine wale corduroy cargo skirts that I love. They tend to run large.

Jamie,

I will be trying to catch up on neglected housework I couldn't do with the pinched nerve. Ack! No fun at all.

A little late to the party here, but I Googled "noisy shoe zipper" and BAM, there you were. Very helpful advice, thank you so much!

Lots of sandals are rocking zippers this season so I feel like I'm irritating my coworkers with the constant click-clacking around. I ordered those strappy strips on Amazon and hope that they will solve my "loudest shoes in the office" problem. :)
