One Geo + a Jacqueline + a Golden Door = a Heat Wave OOTD

The Calendar claims it's Autumn. The weather report says otherwise. Bakersfield is climbing right back into the 100's. California is headed into a HEAT WAVE. BooHoo! I was ready to rock my cold weather duds.

Looks like the time is right to break out the remaining Summer outfits before it cools off.

Jacqueline Dress - by Maeve - Anthro $98 - Jul 2009

See me wearing the dress here.

Reviews on this dress were dicey. It was too short. The color was not yellow as listed. In full sunlight appears to be Gold or Chartreuse. In dim lighting it's Green. I wish I had ordered the Navy as well. The pockets and matching lining were well worth the full price. I was stunned when the empire waist and narrow grosgrain tie flattered me.

Golden Door Cardi (Anthro Catalog Apr 08) - by Knitted and Knotted
Anthro orig $148, new on eBay $30 - Feb 2009

When I saw my friend Heidi D wearing this sweater, I couldn't take my eyes off it. Not only are the embellishments sweet,  and the beading even sweeter, but the knit is light, loose, and airy. Perfect for year round. It was long sold out several months before I shopped Anthro. One evening I was cruising eBay, and hello pretty little sweater. I wasn't sure how a Cardi with a peplum would look on me.  But, it turns out that I like this one.

Infinite Loop Sandals in Gold - by Matt Bernson - Anthro orig $178, sale $100 - May 2009

See my MB's in an alternate outfit here.

Matt Bernson's are made in Brazil and the designer is fairly new.  As I recall, the final sale price hit $50 for the brown colorway.  Most of the 2009 Sandal collection were adorned with very cool gold studs across the front and back of the sandals.  Not these.  Maybe that was part of the lack of interest by Anthro shoppers.

Garden Tortoise Print Big Tote Orla Kiely Mainline SS09 $460 Jan 2009

See this Handbag in an alternate outfit here.

Blue and Gold is one of my favorite color combinations. Orla Kiely calls the pair Bananaberry. Cute!

Glitzy Starfish Earrings - Sterling with CZ's - Anthro $80 - Feb 2010

Anthro's CZ earrings never go on sale. Well, almost never.
Right now, the cutest pair of Lady Bug CZ's are on sale here.

I found a few interesting items over the weekend. I can't wait to review them.

1. A spectacular pair of B. Makowski Mary Janes on sale with free ship at Macy's. I have dresses in my closet that have been waiting for this pair of shoes.

2. A gorgeous ruffled Leifsdottir Skirt also on sale with free ship at Neimans. Anjuli of Goldenmeans has agreed to help find a special blouse for the skirt.

I hope all my Readers had a lovely weekend.
Are you ready for more Summer OOTD's this week?

I am in love with that sweater! It's gorgeous. I love how it pairs so beautifully with the Jacqueline Dress. :)

That cardigan for $30?! Wow! It looks wonderful over the Jacqueline Dress. And after seeing those MB sandals on you, I am wishing I had picked them up too!

It's going to be hot here today as well-105 degrees! So ready for Fall. :)

Oh, the Jacqueline Dress! I admit I get pangs of envy everytime I see someone looking great in it! It was far too short on me, but on you the length is perfect. And the gold Matt Bernsons make a great pairing with its yellow (chartreuse?) skirt.

OH! You look ravishing! I love the yellow of course, but that cardi is so precious!

Mia,

The Golden door is a great Cardi. It's one of those items that I would never part with. It's time to use my sweater shaver on it though. It's getting fuzzy.

Loraine,

$30 for a brand spanking new Cardi that was priced at $148 originally. It must have gone on sale and gotten several price cuts. That sweater was in the Catalog a few months before I started shopping at Anthro. So I have no idea what the history was.

Darn Heat Waves. It was 113°F in LA today. Yucky!

Anjuli,

I keep looking for the Navy colorway on eBay. I wish I had bought it when I had the chance. I don't think there were many sizes left of the Yellow when it went on sale. And I think the Navy sold out.

I keep looking at the Brass Band Cardi in Black, and the From-the-Poles Cardi in Ivory to go with the Leifsdottir Vintage Dots skirt. The skirt is Light Blue.

Kay,

It's so funny, because in these photo it sure looks Yellow. But sitting in my office it's Lime Green. Anthro should have called it the CHAMELEON Dress. He-he!

I'm glad you got the dress despite the reviews since it looks great on you! And what a fab price for that cardi! Can't wait to see the skirt from Neimans!

Lori,

That outfit for 19.50 so beat my little old $30 Cardi out the door. I need to go somewhere that has good thrift stores.

Ooh I just saw that it was the Vintage Dots Skirt (from your post to Kay's blog). I'm still trying to figure out my skirt sizes w/ Leifsdottir. I think the 4's have been too big. Did you get a 2? (I think we have the same waist and hip measurements). I was really tempted by that skirt in yellow!

I love that cardi Laura. And the gold loops on your sandals are just stunning. And the details on your dress are pretty -- I am glad you provided the close-up!

I was definitely in summer attire this weekend, but it is raining these days, so I will be pulling out the trench. Can't wait to see how you style your black Sasha pumps!

That bag is CRAZY cool. Love it!

Jamie,

My Sasha's will be delivered tonight. Then I will review them. But I am working on an outfit for a special photo shoot in the future. Although I might break down and wear them with all those dresses that have been hanging out in my closet waiting for a pair of black.
