No Anthro Zone Review! Berry Months Dress! Confessions...

Confession #1 -  I wanted this dress to wear with my Chie Mihara Tosmos.  Can you blame me?
Confession #2 -  I didn't watch, nor did I care to watch the royal wedding. Shame on me!
Confession #3 - I re-ordered the Magellan Dress in the wrong size.  So I re-ordered it again and then sent it back.  I'm fickle like that.

Update on my ever present and painful Trigger Thumb. I started bending my left thumb just a bit Tuesday.  Oh did it ever hurt after just a couple times.  I was certain that the very painful steroid injection from 2 weeks ago didn't work. But not so! Today I can bend my thumb to almost a normal angle. With no pain.  You have no idea how relieved I am.

But now I have two additional painful problems. The knob on my right wrist is now swollen from over use. It's twice the size it normally is. I'm icing my wrist as I type with my left.  On top of that, my left shoulder and bicep are screaming at me from overuse of my not so dominant left arm.  Blog rounds are just not possible.

Rest assured, Style GeoInCalifornia will go on as planned.  Photo shoot tomorrow.  Post and Voting Polls set for Monday.  In the mean time, I want to share with you another dress love.

No Anthro Zone Review:  Berry Months Dress by We Love Vera $148

My closet is screaming for Floral Prints and the color RED.  This dress satisfied a craving for both.  The combination of Red and Green pops on the Ivory background.  The Luscious Red Berries at the hem call for more Red on your feet. In steps the Chie Mihara Tosmos. The Vera Print is unique and tasteful.  Not childish! I love this dress even more than the Magellan Dress.  See my Review HERE.

SIZE: I ordered my normal size 4 in Anthro Brand Dresses. I'm 5'6" Tall, 130 Lbs, 35-28-36, 34C to D. Narrow through the shoulders. Large rib cage.

I wasn't impressed until I ironed the messy pleats out of the skirt. That's when I realized it was Dress Love.

FIT: I found this dress TTS, as did most reviewers. I first went at this bra less, but found the bodice fit unflattering. Commonly referred to as a Loaf. A convertible Bandeau helped to contain the Girls, since there is no support except for side boning. The top of the bodice is lined with Gel Tape for a more secure fit.  My large rib cage makes most strapless dresses constricting and uncomfortable. The back stretch panel let me breath comfortably with a flawless fit. I solved the high waist issue by dropping the straps down. The Length just covered my knees, making this the perfect Spring/Summer Dress for bare legs.

Berry Months Dress by We Love Vera - Anthro #148

I'm still looking for the ever elusive Pom Flower Shift in a Size 4.  I called 5 stores that had one size small dress at each.  It was a complete fail.  Perhaps it's not meant to be.

Pom Flower Dress RETAIL SKU# 19849660 - SIZE 4
Anthro's Pom Flower Shift

This isn't the half of it for the berry Months Dress.  I've got a few more stylings up my sleeve I'm saving for future OOTD's.

Oh what a fabulous dress and look how many ways you styled it! Love each one! That knit cape is AMAZING! Your mother is supremely talented and creates such beautiful things. I will keep my eyes peeled for a Pom Flower Shift around town. Maybe someone will return one . . . :)

My Mom is wonderfully creative isn't she. She will be very happy to see me wearing the cape. Thanks for looking out for the Pom Flower for me Katie.

Oh, that dress looks lovely on you! It's fun to see the different ways you styled it; I would never have thought it would be so versatile. I like the obi tie a lot, even though I don't have anything against bows (I certainly don't think they are "little girl"-ish).

It stinks that there's no anthro in your area. With all you pay for shipping and return shipping, I bet you could have purchased several new dresses! :-\

Just little girlish for me JG. I don't have anything against them either.

I suppose shipping runs me about $100 plus a month. Not bad considering the price of a gallon of gas. I could run to LA or Fresno, but I prefer the no hassle shopping experience. But it does have it's moments!

The last few yearsmy friends and I have gone to a store in CA. We didn't this year. I miss the camaraderie of the GF shopping trips. I hope I can make the next Styled by Anthro in NYC. So I can shop with all my Blog friends.

That dress looks great on you! I definitely want to get that for this summer--we'll see since I've been splurging for other full price items.

I hear you on splurging. It has to reach a screeching halt for me soon. I was torn between posting this review last night, or my very cute OOTD from Thursday. I thought you gals would enjoy this more. It took me 5 hours to create that post. Normally something like this would be 2 hours max.

First, love that dress on you! Your Chie Mihara heels are stunning with the dress... and I liked all your styling ideas. Second, what a relief your thumb is getting better!!! And I hope you score the Pom Flower dress, I will look for it at my local store for ya :)
1 reply · active 727 weeks ago
That is so sweet of you to keep your eyes open for the Pom Flower for me. I couldn't believe not one of 5 stores had one. I was on the phone for at least 45 minutes.

I can't complain. Wednesday CS hooked me up with the last size small Cloud Art dress in existence . Although that's debatable. Then on Thursday, a Reader turned me on to the last size 4 Take Action Dress. But yikes on the Full Price Tags lately. And I sprung on the Verdant Slip dress too. FP!

Oh my gosh, Laura, oh how FABULOUS do you look! Ooh that dress just *might* have landed on my wishlist now thanks to ya! :P And what caught my eye immediately? That hand knit capulet by Mum with the Thumb! She does such beautiful work! And here's hoping that you find the Pom Flower Shift!

Uh oh! Shame on me for spreading the Anthro Domino Effect to you. If you want this dress, don't wait too long. There were less than ten left in every size when I checked online stock yesterday. This dress is one that has length for you Mandy. And looks so hot with Red shoes. Ha-ha!

Laura, you look stunning in the Berry Months Dress! I absolutely love the cape that your Mom made-the perfect topper. Hope your thumb continues to feel better!
This is the perfect dress for your new Chie's! You look gorgeous. I really like the obi tie and of course the cape is beautiful.

I'm so glad to hear that the steroid injection was successful! That's great! Hopefully the other issues will start to ease up and bit as you are able to use your thumb more. Maybe a message is in order to help with your shoulder/bicep pain?

Have a great weekend!

Massages only hurt to the point of making me cry. I have FMS. Isn't that the absolute pits. Heat and Ice on and off ever 20 minutes and copious amounts of Ibuprophen. I think my swollen wrist is from texting and emailing from my iPhone. I normally use middle finger. I am learning to use my thumb to text. It's a more neutral wrist position. I'm hoping for the best.

You look fantastic! I love the dress on you! The red Chie's are a perfect companion to the dress, and I love the red belt with it as well (I a sucker for all things red). I must say I wasn't in love with this dress online but I love how you've styled enough to wishlist this sucker.

WOW Laura, you've got amazing shoulders and collarbone. err, does that sound weird?? Haha I'm just saying you should show off your amazing shoulders everyday. I looked at your past posts and thanks for the detailed review of the Mompos. It looks super gorg on you. Oh, I can't wait to try it on. Am hoping it'll be my bday dress. Fingers crossed.
Feels great to be back in Anthro Land, =) Here's a big hug from one Anthro sis to another.
I'm off to In N Out Burger now. Burger, fried and milkshake, here I come . . .

But wait Lisa. What about that 5 lbs you gained eating all that Malaysian food your Mother kept feeding you? I suppose you must have missed the good old American meal. Or is that the hot dog? Considering my age that is not only a fantastic compliment, but also very appropriate from one Anthro Sister to another.

Thank goodness there are at least a few Anthro Dresses to love. But never enough!

Hey there Molly! It has been a very busy weekend at my house. I did a giant photo shoot for Style GeoInCalifornia on Saturday. I am one worn out model, director, make-up artist, wardrobe (at least for the accessories) and photog. It was a Berry good time. Ha-ha! Now for the Post!

You look incredible in this dress, wow!!! It is so flattering on you, Laura, and I love it with your gorgeous shoes! I didn't really look twice at this dress but seeing how fabulous it is on you makes me want to give it a chance. I've got a serious lack of red in my closet and I also would like to get a few pops of red to play around with. I honestly think the only red thing I have is the Amarena dress. How sad! Anyway I also love the dress paired with your cute little belt, and I love how you showed us a ton of different looks. That one is a keeper for sure!
wow, you look gorgeous!! the outfit with the Beloved Cardigan is my favorite!!
I went to Anthro today but I didn't see the dress..
Is there anything else you want!?? I might even find something really old!! I love people who return them for me!! LOL

Hi Keiko. If you go back to the store, have them do a store search for the Pom Flower. I'm working on Style GeoInCalifornia, but there is a necklace I want. I have to look it up.

you didn't watch the royal wedding? Shame shame shame :-) oh well, there's always the internet, newspapers and magazines for people like you who missed out.
This is a wonderful dress on you Laura. It's a lovely shape and the colours really suit you. I think it looks great with the red belt too. Oh and I simply adore those red tstraps...shoe love.
You mentioned that the Mompos dress looked shorter on me than you? I'm 5'5" in height. I thought you were taller than me?
1 reply · active 726 weeks ago
Ha-ha! I'm barely 3/4 of an inch taller than you. Maybe the Smaller sizes are shorter for the Mompos. Maybe it's the camera angle. Perhaps all dresses appear shorter in the Southern Hemisphere. Sizing up blog friends can sometimes be puzzling.

I was so busy with the Styling Challenge this weekend. Plus this review on Friday. There just wasn't time for the wedding. I'm sure I wasn't missed.

I love that dress on you Laura and how you styled it. When it went on sale yesterday am I called all four stores in Canada but none anywhere near my size were to be had. Oh well. I have purchased quite a few dresses lately so I suppose I'm in good shape (and this is coming from a girl who had never purchased a dress for anything other than a wedding up until a year ago). The Paraiso, Martagon, Sing Sweetly, Sun Shades, Memory of Feathers...yup, I'm in good shape for dresses!

I bought the dress because online stock was low. I couldn't believe they were OOS this morning. And I hot a PA. Yeah'
