Bad Laura! Great Big Polka Dots and an Anthro Jewelry Bonaza!

It was an Anthro Jewelry Bonanza this morning!  What crazy Anthro Girl could hold herself back!  Did you?  It was obscene.  If anyone can understand how it feels to be confronted with your Wildest Anthro Dreams, it would be you guys.

Keiko's of Keiko's TanPoPo told me I'm too honest. It's true!  I'm into full disclosure. But before I SPILL, here is todays OOTD...

Great Dots Maxi Dress -by  Moulinette Soeurs - Anthro Orig $158 Sale $80 - Mar 2011
All Along Knit Jacket in Black - by Cartonnier - Anthro Orig $88 Sale $50 - Feb 2011
Mrs Blackbeards Necklace - by Wendy Mink - Anthro Orig $198 3rd cut to $20 - Feb 2011
Camden Wedge in Black- by Jambu - Zappos Orig $123 Sale $98 - May 2010

Yep!  Count them.  Two lousy park bench photos.  My Camera/Scan Disk decided to pull a fast one on me this morning.  It was no more pictures, or re-format and loose a months worth of photos on the Disk.

So this is it...

This outfit is so cute standing up.  But I didn't get that far.  By the time I get home I will be a wrinkled mess.  This dress got a 2nd cut this morning.  A week too late for me to claim a credit.

I SHOPPED THE SALE AND THE SALE WON!

I really lucked out for my first two orders this morning.  Oh, did I forget to mention I placed 4 separate orders today.  The shipping alone came to $52.  Consider yourself lucky to not live in a No Anthro Zone. If I wasn't such a lunatic, and had stuck to my Wish List as I planned, I could have saved $12, if I had ordered it all at once.  But NOOOO.....

I couldn't believe it when I found the Star Mail Necklace on sale.  There was only one left.  And it just happened to be my Astrological Sign.  CAPRICORN.  How lucky can I be.

Star Mail Necklace - Handmade in France - Anthro Orig $118 Sale $50 - Apr 2011
Am I a Sucker or What?

Next up was Cardigans.  When I got to the last row, I couldn't believe my eyes.  I've been looking for this Cardi on eBay for over a year.  How can it be here in the sale section.  Did somebody stumble on a few of these in the back of the warehouse, and decide to just throw them into the mix? And in my size!  It's not possible.

Any-Other-Rose Cardi - by Moth - Anthro Orig $118 Sale $60 - Apr 2011

I am praying to the Anthro Angel.  Please don't cancel these two FAT CHANCE items!

Then I picked up the Paraiso Dress.  The only item that went on sale that I had in my WISH LIST. I have to have just about every Maeve Dress that Anthro produces.  They fit me like no other. Perfect every time.

Paraiso Dress - by Maeve - Anthro Orig $148 Sale $80 - Apr 2011

Anyway, I continued to lose my senses all day long.  Order Three comprised one Tataborello Necklace.  Can you blame me.  I love Tataborello!  It was in the cards before I ever woke up this morning.

Petalouda Necklace - by Tataborello of Italy - Anthro Orig $278 Sale $130 - Apr 2011

BAD LAURA!
Here the sound of a whip cracking?

After lunch I had to visit Heidi to see her Anthro picks.  I quickly proceeded back to my office to place order number 4.  Four Necklaces and a Bracelet.

BAD Heidi!

It's really not her fault, but I have to drag her in on it for her own good.  And mine!

You can see all the damage at once HERE.  The first 13 items.

Did you overload on Anthro today? If not, take the plunge HERE

Love your OOTD! That dress looks really nice on you. I still haven't jumped on the maxi dress/skirt bandwagon, but I think I need to. Great sale haul too! I can't beleive you found the Any Other Rose cardi! Lucky girl! I'm jealous:) I sat this sale out, but only because nothing on my wishlist made it to sale, and I already placed an order a few days ago before free shipping ended.

I have no excuse for my deplorable behavior. Because I too placed several orders before free ship ended. I can't wait to see what you ordered, in some cool Oregon location.

That dress looks great on you, Laura. I haven't made the jump onto the maxi dresses yet, and truth be told, I'm still rather intimidated by it. You look like something from Old Hollywood.

Well, they may not be for everyone Tien. I wasn't entirely sure myself. But it turns out the cut of this dress works on me.

I sat out from today's sale, but I think you made up for me with your multiple purchases :) I can't wait to see all your new items once they arrive!!

I figure it may take a month to work 7 necklaces into my wardrobe. Maybe longer. Let's hope I return a few.

oooooooooooohh. nice Polka dot dress! You are pulling it off so well.

Here's an EZSNiper worthy item from eBay, if you don't have it already: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&amp...
(ANTHROPOLOGIE "Lantern's Glow" by Moth Crochet Birds S) by seller, "mimisgamine"
This seller seems to have really nice, Anthro Vintage pieces!

(Remember Anthropologie sold a LiaMolly sweater dress called, "Lantern Glow dress" and the year after they released this skirt version! Sooooooo cute!
One of my fave Anthro pieces that I enjoy wearing)

I know this skirt as a Dress by the the same name. From Anthro's Wonder Catalog 2008. In fact, I ordered this dress and returned it. Don't remember why. It's a black dress with a White Lace Overlay by LiaMolly not Moth.

I'm already set-up to use my last Snipe on a gorgeous Anthro treasure.

Oh dear! I missed the end of your message. You do know about the Lanterns Glow by LiaMolly. It's funny that I tried that dress. In fact I am about to snipe a treasure from seller mimisgamine.

Maybe you can figure put what that item is.

Love the dots maxi dress. I am totally on the maxi dress/skirt bandwagon and have been since I was in high school (um, let's see . . . 15 years?) ha ha! I just think they can look so elegant when done properly and you did that with this outfit. Lovely!

Wow, awesome sale haul. I had $500+ in my cart when I first started browsing the sale at 4:30 a.m. By 6:00 when I placed my order it was down to 4 items. Sigh. I will probably regret letting a few things go but I have to stick to the budget. I mean, it is only the 5th of the month and I placed an order over the weekend besides one this morning. Darn you Anthopologie, you win again!

I really love what you picked (yeah Capricorns)!

And I about choked on my breakfast when I saw the Any Other Rose cardigan in the sale section. I mean, how old is that cardigan and there it was listed? Don't they usually "dime out" items that old? I am so happy you ordered one. I can't wait to see how you style all of these goodies!
1 reply · active 730 weeks ago
I'm so happy you approve. Tien suggested I look like old Hollywood.

Yay for sticking to your budget. I suppose at the moment I don't have one. But that can change at any time.

The Star Mail necklace was a bit of a fun find. Then the cardigan right after that. I thought what the heck.

Even though the Description for the Petalouda Necklace doesn't say it's a Tataborello piece, I know the nuances. Yay!

So Katie! What did you get?

Love those Jambu shoes! And how did I miss that cardigan? I love it - can't wait to see you sport it!
1 reply · active 730 weeks ago
I have a bunch of Jambu's. They are perfect for my wide foot in the front.

The Cardi was a total freak. It's from 2009. There was only a few. Maybe one Small and one Medium.

Hey there Laura - i see you've managed to nab yourself some fancy items! The Star Mail necklace looks really cute - it's a bargain for $50. I sure hope your orders go through, it's always a worry come sale time.
You look so fun in the polka dots - another great score! I managed to order last night (probably your early morning) the Dots After Six skirt and the Chiffon Swing blouse...oh plus, i got the Mompos dress. I couldn't resist...
1 reply · active 730 weeks ago
The Mompos arrives tomorrow night. So many bloggers are falling for that dress.

Don't jinx my Necklace and Cardi Jen.

Wow you did great! I put the Star Mail in my cart too, but I'm not a Capricorn so it seemed pointless to buy it. I have about 10 pieces of jewelry in my cart and I'm trying to resist...I have actually not ordered anything yet!

Oh Jeez LC. Push the order button, so the rest of us can see you rock those 10 pieces. I'm sure glad you didn't order my Star Mail necklace. How funny that you thought about it though,

I've got my own little Anthro Jewelry Convention going on.

I love your outfit! I want to try a maxi length but have been nervous. Sorry to hear about your lost photos. I love your haul! Especially the jewelry.

What have you got to loose. If it doesn't work, at least you gave it a try. I've never been a Maxi gal myself. I loved the versatile look and the dressed up appeal of this one.

I just purchased the wonderful maxi dress you have on! At 40 bucks I couldn't pass it up. Then I got the all hours belt, not on sale. I love the items you picked up, you got the mompos dress! I can't wait to see it on you. I also love the jewelry picks, some of them I woulda picked up myself but that pesky budget got in the way!

Darn Steph! I hate budgets. But sometimes the need to eat and fill the car with $4.10 a gal gas is necessary.

I'm off budget right now. But eventually I will be forced to take the straight and narrow road again. Sometimes a hard working gal just needs to live it up. That means SHOP!

Yay for catching a 2nd cut on the Great Dot! The Mompos arrives tonight. This is the first time I have ever simultaneously ordered 2 sizes. I just hope I don't see what that One Star Anthro Reviewer did.

Should have a review up by Friday at the latest.

Wish Me Luck!

I was actually pretty good in the sale today! I bought the maxi dress you're wearing (I LOVED your review, and figured the sloooowww online sales would mean a relatively speedy second cut. I still can't believe it was THIS fast, though. I bet it'll get a third cut, too, since there were still a lot in stock as of this afternoon!)

I also got the color-dipped mini skirt from a few months ago (hoping it goes the way of the Field Game and gets a second cut within the PA period) and I managed to nab a random Field Game Cardi for only $10! Of course I couldn't pass that up :-)

I'll be returning a few items tomorrow and checking the sale stuff at a different location, so we'll see if that's any more successful! Chelsea Market sorely lacked jewelry.

The Field Game for $10. SCORE! Where did you find it?

I tried calling CS yesterday several times. The power was out, so the phone lines were down.

I'm trying to find a Pick A Bunch Cardi by Tabitha in Small. Along with a few other Long Shots.

I expected a sale last week. So I thought the Great Dot Maxi would get a second cut then. Much to my surprise, Anthro held out on us. Every few months they skip a week right before a new catalog is expected to come out. My timing was off.

Good luck on your Anthro treasure hunt JG. It must be fun to have so many Anthro's to scavenge.

Field Game: as I was checking out at Chelsea Market, my eyes wandered behind the counter and I noticed those telltale blue stripes/gold buttons/lace accents sitting brand new, still folded, in its plastic online purchase bag! Someone had just returned the item, I guess, and the SAs hadn't put it back on the floor yet. It actually rang up for only ten cents, but I guess that's Anthro code for "no longer in the system, charge $10." I wasn't complaining! It's a bit small (I'm usually a medium and this is a small) but I think it will work fine.

The Pick a Bunch cardi is so pretty, and at a great price right now. Hope you find it. Anthro definitely switched things up with their sale timing. It always surprises me when items get a second cut within three or four weeks from the initial sale date. It really does seem to punish those who diligently shop the sales every Tuesday.

I loved reading your haul! Sounds like you got some great pieces, even if you were a little bit naughty. :-)
I LOVE that maxi dress on you, gal - I'm also lovin' that Mrs. Blackbeard's necklace! So perfect (that's one I had my eye on but never bought!). You just look so chic and ready for spring!

I am oogling your sale haul and cannot wait for reviews - the Maeve dress was on my wishlist, but I wanted the Martagon more (and when it didn't get a second cut, I had to make a decision this week!). Perhaps, if your review is favorable, one will be around for me to snag in a week or two. :P And that rose cardi? I hope you get it! It would be beautiful on you!

Have a great one, Laura! :)

Mandy, you'll love the Martagon! I picked it up right when it went on sale and have already worn it a bunch. I can't believe it hasn't gotten a second cut yet though since it does not seem to be moving online at all.
Hi Leana, This is Laura. You may want to repeat this comment to the Mandy at her blog. I don't mind. I just don't want Mandy to miss your comment. Teehee!

I love maxi dresses, and I think this one looks fabulous on you. Silly camera though, I want more pictures! The striped dress you picked up is adorable, and I am sure it will be perfect on you, the cut looks great!

I know! I will wear the Great dots again soon. More photos then!

I love the maxi dress on you. I haven't gotten into the maxi trend and probably won't. Since I'm only 5'2", I think the long dresses would probably shorten me. I did however, manage to get the Maryam tank yesterday on sale and the Chaperoned Blazer for $40.

OT -- good news on the job front. Got one!
The maxi dress looks great on you! I can't believe it got a second cut to $40 already when there are other dresses that have been on sale longer that don't appear to be moving (I'm thinking of you Martagon sketch halter). I also picked up the Paraiso dress yesterday. I wasn't wowed by it at regular price, but on sale I decided to go for it. I tried it on with the blue sulky belt instead of the ribbon to move the waistline down slightly. I now own so many cute summer party type dresses (Sing Sweetly, Memory of Feather, Martagon and Paraiso) that I think I need to hold off buying any more!
1 reply · active 730 weeks ago
Thanks for the outfit/belt advice. I have the Sulky in Blue. And I did plan to try it since I'm not wild about Ribbon Ties as a belt. They fold over and generally aren't very comfortable.
