Playing Catch-up in Broken Vintage Anthro Shoes! Don't Wear The Love Out!

Outfit One is today's OOTD.  I'm wearing the Graphical Dress as a skirt.  See my First and Second styling for this dress HERE and HERE.  These are old Posts.  And the first time I let a family member take my photos. I do my own photography on a daily basis.  Or can you tell?  Ha-ha!

It turns out that my photographer Kris and I both purchased the Parading Hues Dress from Yesterday's Anthro Sale.  I think we are on the same wave length. See her new Blog HERE.

I bought this dress in August of last year. I had just begun this Blog a few weeks previous. It was the first time I followed a Tuesday morning sale on Effortless Anthropologie. I used a Vacation Day for this. What fun too stay up all night and connect with other Anthro Addicts.  I couldn't believe my good fortune.

Katie (Anthro Yogi)  recognized me as GeoInCalifornia Anthro Reviewer and came gallantly to my rescue when I questioned the community about the fit of the Graphical.  You can see our guess was correct. It was at that moment I began to realize what a blessing the Anthro community is.

The Left shoe is missing a Flower
Anthro's Port-To-Port Heels are the second pair of shoes I purchased from Anthro the Summer of 2008.  Not long after that, the Hibiscus Flower on the left shoe broke off.  I was devastated!  I contacted Miss L Fire in Europe to get a replacement Flower.  No such luck!

You can imagine my distress when I realized this morning that the Gold Painted Shell was missing from my Left Shoe.  I re-traced my steps to an office where I had attended an early morning meeting.  And there it was, lying under a table.  I was so happy I immediately went to Heidi's office to show her my little treasure.  Once lost.  Now found. Heidi has the same pair of shoes (2007) with a light house on the back of the heel.  She gets it!

Oufit Two was Monday's OOTD.  Do you ever love something so much that you never want it to wear out?  So you don't wear it very often? That is the case with the Berry Months Dress. See my first stying and review for this dress HERE.

Even more Red in the middle with the Outlook Belt.

Do you have a special Dress, Sweater, or even a pair of Treasured Shoes that you don't wear often? Not because you don't like them, but because you don't want to Wear The Love Right Out of It.

I would love to hear about that, and what did you get from the Red Tag Sale?

Love both outfits Laura!! The Berry Months is so stunning on you. I'm still sad I wasn't able to find one in my size when it went on sale. Maybe I'll have a stroke of good luck in NYC next month.

I picked up the Parading Hues dress as well. I had to size down as it fit fairly large in the bust (and I am not a small chested gal), plus I decided to hop on the maxi trend and get the Cultivated Maxi dress.

Also, check out my wee bit of Anthro love on my blog! :) http://engineergeekunite.blogspot.com/2011/06/num...

I'm surprised the Parading Hues hasn't sold out online. New York City. I'm excited for you. And jealous at the same time.

You look so adorable and super happy in these pics! The outfits are so much fun too!
I haven't had any super-special clothes yet, but I do tend to be wary of expensive jewelry (and yet have a knack for accumulating them). I force myself to wear my Trollbeads bracelet every day, just to counteract the wearing-the-love-out effect. I also have a pair of diamond earrings, "spotted" on actress Zhang Ziyi, that was given to me as a gift. I'm so afraid of losing them--especially since they're earrings--that I've yet to even try them on.

Ive never not worn something because I was afraid of loosing it. With one exception. My GrandMothers Engagement Ring. Old setting. Huge Mine Cut Diamonds that can't be replaced. And the fear of a stone being lost is purely for the sentimental value. Not monetary.

Were the diamond earrings from someone special? Maybe it's the losing the gift that you fear.

I get so much inspiration from you and your fantastic outfits-- the port to port heels are priceless!
I spent today in my d'armee dress, and got compliments wherever I went--which was mostly back to anthro for my second round of purchases. Truly, I'm out of control..... I got the parading hues dress. it seems to run really large. I saw several size 2 today at carlsbad, ca store if you're trying to find it.

I ordered the Parading Hues in a 4. There were no Size 2 left online. I have a feeling it will be too big. What do you think? Should I go ahead and grab a 2 from a store. Then I got to thinking how similar the dress is on color to the Graphical Dress. Did I really need that dress? Or did I order it because there was nothing else I liked?

I just wore my D Armee last week. It was awesome with boots. And it's just as great with a pair of strappy Gold Sandals.

I'm so happy someone is inspired by me. You have no idea how great a compliment that is. Thank you so much for saying so. It's my pleasure.

the parading hues--I usually wear a 2 or 4 in dresses, but the 0 was what fit me best because I'm fairly small chested (34B). I could have gone with the 2, but since they also had the 0 I took that size because I wanted to be sure that it wouldn't slip down as I was wearing it. I missed out on the larkspur top on the anthro site, so I snatched up a size 6 on ebay for the same (before discount price). I have a feeling that it's going to be too big.....

I'm normally a 4 or 6 and I need the space up top. I'm sure the stretch panel will help.

You look smashing in both outfits! You have such a fabulous shoe collection. I know what you mean about special garments that don't get worn that much due to too much love. I feel this way about most of my anthro dresses...especially the mompos! The embroidery is delicate and I'm too scared about getting it caught in things.

I hope your Mompos isn't defective Jen. I wore mine got that photo shoot. I had to change in the car. Climb up rocks. Wade through flower beds. Squeeze between mailboxes. And sit on a pillow in the middle of the road. I cleaned it with a home dry cleaning kit. Not a mark, stain or pulled thread on it. So I'm wondering if your dress was made from different Fabric stock that had defective embroidery. It should not be falling apart.

So glad you were able to find the gold plate for those shoes. That unique detail turns them into a truly gorgeous pair of shoes. But I also love the (striped?) edging along the straps of the shoes. So fun! So bright! So Laura! And dont you love when a dress can double as a skirt? The thrifty part of me thinks I'm getting two-for-one that way.

I have lots of items that I am a saving for some mystery special occasion. Including a pair of Tiffany blue patent Kate Spade heels. They are absolutely gorgeous, but I am just afraid to bring them out of the box. If I ruin them, I know they will be difficult to replace.

Love the bright green embroidery on your OK bag. A new store just opened in my town that sells Orla Kiely bags. I haven't been able to check them out, because I am never home when the store is open. But I have gazed longingly from the window!

Bakersfield has a high end shop that carries Orla. But it's badly overpriced even when you add Shipping. It obviously caters to those who don't shop the web.

I must admit, when I first got those Port-To-Port Heels I wore them constantly. Yes they are a little out there. Not very versatile. And certainly not appealing to everyone. But I adore them. I saw a used pair auction off for a pretty penny on eBay.

2 great outfits and 2 great pairs of shoes. That first pair are absolutely awesome. I would've totally crawled under tables too to find my little shell!! I really adore though that second outfit with those great shoes and gorgeous bag. Awesomeness!!

You are awesome yourself Katrina. So many compliments. I would have run into traffic for my shell. Safely of course!

LOL Thanks Laura. :)

About the Old Navy cardigans - I have to say they run a little less large than Anthro. I'd wear an XS almost always in Anthro but go for the Small usually in ON. The quality has gone up tremendously recently and they wash and wear quite well (I do not wash after every wear though). I've accumulted a nice collection and have been happy with every single one. The yellow one you commented on I should've gotten an XS though because I feel it would've looked better more fitted. Hope this helps! I know ON is having 20% off until tomorrow online. hint...hint may be a good time to try.
I'm on it! Thanks for the tip Katrina.

Most of the clothes I buy are so precious and I don't want to wear out. Shoes too! I am just a shopaholic... lol
I love both outfits! You look lovely <3
Wow, I can't believe you used a vacation day on an Anthro sale! Sure beats working, I suppose. That Berry Months dress is just beautiful on you, and I love those heels.

I wanted the full experience. Now Keiko calls me when the sale is up. I usually know what I want.I get the order doneand go back to bed.I sometimes place another in the AM.
Those Port shoes flippin rock.

I believe I saw a picture online last night of one of Hugh Hefner's ex-playmate wives wearing the Mopos dress. That struck me as "not right"!

OMG! The best part was...Holly was dressed more conservatively than usual in a pretty, high-necked summer dress. She's even wearing the matching belt. Ha-ha!

From my Yahoo Mail - Laura
Hi Laura,
I saw these shoes on you and tried to find a 36.5 for me. I called the accessories store in Maryland today and they said that the smallest they had was a 38. Isn’t that the size you’re looking for? So if you are interested, maybe the shoes are still there and you could find a buyer for your 38.5. I just thought you may like to know.
The shoes are great, thanks for the great pictures. If I haven’t seen the shoes on you, I probably wouldn’t be so interested in buying them!

I've had these for a month. I already wore them outside. Check Clementines.com. They had them on sale. Search for Taiko's or Chie Mihara. I don't recall if they had 36.5 size left on sale Marcela. But they were $80 cheaper than Anthro.

(Sorry! I was talking about the Chie Mihara shoes)

I guess that makes me an enabler. I hope you find them. There were no 38's when I ordered these. At least that's what CS told me.
