Your Slip Is Showing! Who Gave me ADE Last Week?

Your short dresses will rejoice when you add a custom slip from Etsy's A Slip Shop.  The best I could do with this short Leifsdottir Dress was to wear Gray Leggings and Flat Sandals.  Leggings and heels DO NOT mingle in my book.

Photomontage Dress - by Leifsdottir - Anthro Orig $278 Sale $140 - March 2010
Roaming Frills Cardi in Blue - by Sparrow - eBay BIN $90 - May 2011
Three Tiered Cream Ruffle Slip - Etsy ASlipShop - $34 - June 2011
Gleaming  Slow Poke Necklace - handmade in USA - Anthro Orig $38 Sale $20 - Apr 2011
Butterfly Cuff - by Jessica Kagan Cushman - Max and Chloe $170 - March 2010

I happened to stumble upon a blogger (non Anthro) that was wearing a slip made to show below the hemline.  It was then I noticed A Slip Shop.  I had been looking for one of these, but thought $60 plus seems high for something that will only show a few inches of lace below the hemline.

There are at least 2 dozen trims to choose from in many different colors.  The sizes range from Small to Large.  I ordered the Three-tiered White Eyelet Ruffle Embellished Slip in Cream - Size Small.  The shop claims it could take as long as 2 weeks to receive your custom order.  Mine was delivered in 3 outstanding days. Remember this is Etsy. You must have a PayPal account to make a purchase from most of the Shops.

I brought along two little animals with me. Can you spot them?  I had to make it easy, not for you, but for me. After my 3 day weekends, it takes additional time to get my brain function up to speed.  Welcome to Monday following a 3-dayer. Not to mention a 5-day 9-hour a day work week ahead.

Temps expected to reach 108 (degrees F) in Bakersfield CA by Thursday.

Countdown T Straps in Gray - by Seychelles - Amazon Orig $90 Sale $37 - June 2011
I tossed in Purple or maybe it's Blue (depends on how you see it) Roaming Frills Cardi simply because these Seychelles Countdown T-Straps demanded it.  See the Purple Band in the front?

It was Bar Chic who gave me ADE (Anthro Domino Effect) last week.  Twice!

First occurrence! I spied her wearing Anthro's Brilliant Chaos Dress.  If you aren't Following Stephanie, please do.  She's more brilliant than the Brilliant Chaos Dress, and a fab New Yorker studying for the BAR.  Not what you thought it meant huh? She's also a brave 30 for 30 Re-mixer this month.  Can you spell Shopping Ban?  I can't!

See Bar Chic in the Brilliant Chaos HERE

I did say TWICE didn't I.

See Bar Chic's shoes HERE.

Although they are a different color, do they look familiar?
If not you should skim this post again.  Just kidding.  It's Monday!

You can shop these shoes at Amazon for $75 HERE.
HOLD ON JUST A ROTTEN PICKEN MINUTE!
Just last week they were priced at $37.  Hmmm...
Google knows we have blogs.  Google is associated with Amazon.  Ha!  They know what we buy.
Is it possible? Not cool if it is!
There was one pair left in my size. Perhaps only those were $37.

The Second occurrence of ADE was spread by Best In Shop wearing Anthro's Sugared Dress.  Again, if you're not Following Becca, you should be.

Best in Shop rocks the Sugared in true Anthro form HERE.

Work beckons just the other side of the Park.

Who gave you ADE recently?  Do tell!
What do you think of the sudden price rebound for the Shoes?
Fishy or not?

The price rebound may actually be due to Amazon's warehouse prices for "used" shoes. Those prices usually come up in google searches.

Love your outfit--I will have to check out the slip shop!

I didn't use Google. I originally used Stephanie's link. This time I directly went to Amazon, then searched Seychelles. These didn't look used. I'm going to check my screen shot of my original purchase. I always save them for this kind of situation.

My order specifies condition new. I paid 37.39 with free shipping too. The shoes are sold by Amazon. Please explain what you know.

That's weird. I guess you got lucky! I've noticed that sometimes the price drops if they only have a few left or odd sizes left. They also have sales too, so maybe that was it. I know some of the boots I bought in the fall for crazy $40 or $50 deals are now $100+. I wish there was more of a regular system so we can learn it!!

Amazon 101! Ha-ha! I'll have to ask Stephanie what she paid for hers.

Love this slip! I need to order one....I love etsy!
I paid around 40 dollars for mine as well, but I got mine from 6 pm a couple of months ago. Weird that the price has gone back up on amazon! Very sketchy.

That slip is gorgeous!! I think the domino effect may be working in reverse now...genius pairing!

The slip looks made for that dress! Beauitful! And 108 degrees?! It's been so cool where I live...it's not even 60 right now!
I must go check out this ETSY slip shop ASAP! Brilliant pairing of the slip underneath your Photomontage Dress.

Stephanie is definitely spreading the ADE these days. I had the pleasure of meeting her in person yesterday and not only is she a wonderful person, but her shoes were amazing and I'm tempted to track down a pair myself!!!!

Ah....It's so cool to hear when my blog friends meet. But.........it also makes me feel so isolated.

From my Yahoo Mail - Laura
super cool - I'm running there to check them out! Thanks for the tip!
I love that slip...what a great idea. You look darling :)
Gorgeous dress! I really like the idea of wearing a slip. I have a few dresses in my closet that are a tad too short for comfort. The slip is a great idea to help with modesty.
Oh, I love your new slip! It is really pretty and looks perfect with this dress.
That slip is amazing and it looks so cool with your dress! I love an exposed slip. I use this trick regularly myself to lengthen too-short dresses!

I must have been stopped by 3 maybe 4 women that day, and asked about the ruffles. They all wanted to know where I got it.

Kris, The Photomontage is about 2 years old. Leifsdottir called it the Circus Butterfly. Those are Large Butterflies in the print. Did you and Tammy have your shoot last weekend?

Not yet, it will be mid-July. :)
The slip under the dress style is really cute! I have seen online prices jump, too! What a sneaky trick! (Kind of reminds me of oil prices)

Ha-ha! Now, now! That definitely isn't my fault. I was miffed when I saw the price of those shoes had doubled overnight. This style is from a past season. I like them. But not for more than $50.

How are you holding up in the Bakersfield heat? We actually had a normal Spring didn't we? Something that rarely happens here. The predicted 108 degrees F will be a rude awakening tomorrow.

Awe, that slip is so cute! It will work underneath so many of your dresses and skirts. I need to get me a slip asap, especially one with adorable little ruffles peeking out like this one. You're rockin' that dress! I love it on you!
