Hello Bright Hot Summer Day
You’re back again with a Delay
I’m anticipating Falls arrival
I wish you would just go away
My Anthro Closet is in Chaos
Coats and sweaters made their demands
My favorite boots are shined and kicking
The protest could get out of hand
I miss my cooler weather gear
They miss me too, so go from here
Before you exit, I might add
Please Grab Falls Tail and ...
Pull Like Mad

PS: You’re welcome back some time next year
I know I am behind making my comment rounds. It's the fault of the blog sale. Tonight I plan to devote my evening to as many blogs as possible.

haha awesome little poem there Laura! Well you might be missing fall, but that dress is lovely! We are just getting into our fall weather here now, and I will wear my boots and think of you :)
Oh, so artsy! The poem and photo are very cool!
I am no help with fall weather, it is in the mid-80's here in the D.C. area. Boo! But in the spirit of coaxing fall - SEE YA SUMMER! I have my A/C cranked and I'll be drinking hot tea with my sweater on and boots at the ready ANYWAY!
What a cute poem! I'd love to see some fall weather myself - it's still in the 80s in the SE and it's like 90-something in FL where I am right now! Where are the colored leaves and crisp cool air?!
Jess,
Bakersfield is well known for it's fickle weather. Right smack in the meddle of the Great Central Valley. Pacific on one side, Desert on the other. 60's last week. 90's this week. I just want to wear by 2 new coats. I love those boots of your.
Katie,
Bakersfield will hit mid 90's this week. Grrr! The Phlox and Coral and Cream Confection Coats are on stand bye. Thanks for helping send Summer on it's way.
Lisa,
I'm with you. We will hit mid 90's this week. Halloween is around the corner. I remember trick or treating when it was too hot to wear our costumes. I should write a book on how to write poetry in 30 minutes or less.

Laura, great poem! I will trade you some of your heat for some of Seattle's cold/wet. Maybe we could even out our weather patterns with a little exchange :)

I am sending you some of our fall weather right now -- rain, thunder, lightening, and HAIL! (though my town didn't get any, but NYC did).
Great poem! Although I studied literature, I was never much for creative writing. I am always impressed by those whose talents are both scientific and creative I just don't have the imagination! Too bad it's not genetic -- my mother was a civil engineer by training (now a teacher), and she wrote us the most wonderful children's stories when we were younger.
Thanks so much for providing the name to the Plantain Lily blouse. I would never have been able to find the name otherwise! And I love the turquoise and black top that you are wearing here -- stunning!
Sending some Autumn Vibes your way, Laura :)
