Ready, Set, Go, Repeat! Friday Stress Out!

How can it be Monday already?  I took a vacation day on Friday, thinking I could catch up.  I had planned to do my dreaded TAXES. On the way to a Dr's appointment, I got car sick.  I hadn't eaten enough before taking my vitamins.

I was already nervous and upset about the Dr's visit.  On top of getting sick, I suffered an anxiety attack. All while I sat next to my car in a parking lot.  How's that for the ultimate vacation day.

If only Calgon could really TAKE ME AWAY! He-he!

Now I have to reschedule that dreaded Dr's visit.  And TAXES remain on my To-Do list. Despite all the drama of Friday, I put together a fabulous INSPIRATION THAT ROCKS Outfit for Style #5 that is scheduled to Post Wednesday morning.

Fanned Flames Blouse - by Leifsdottir - Anthro orig $178 sale $90 - Jan 2009
Paseo Ruffled Leather Skirt - by Leifsdottir - Anthro Orig $448, Sale $225 - Oct 2010
Dotty Cluster Tights- by Eloise - Anthro $16 - Aug 2010
Sasha Pump - by B Makowsky - Macy*s Orig $134 Sale $104, FS Promo - Sept 2010
Custom Order Sterling Beaded Bracelet - Etsy Shop Adri33 $48 - Apr 2010

Anthro's PASEO LEATHER SKIRT by Leifsdottir was supposed to be an investment piece.  I'm now thinking I still need a basic Black skirt.  I thought I would get a lot of wear out of this skirt.  This is only the second time I've worn it.

Fanned Flames Blouse - by Leifsdottir - Anthro orig $178 sale $90 - Jan 2009
The Skirt certainly compliments Anthro's FANNED FLAMES BLOUSE by Leifsdottir in the most splendid way. The blouse is just too spectacular to wear with plain old Black trousers. Blah!
Fanned Flames Blouse - by Leifsdottir - Anthro orig $178 sale $90 - Jan 2009
Custom Order Sterling Beaded Bracelet - Etsy Shop Adri33 $48 - Apr 2010
I CUSTOM ORDERED THIS BRACELET from Esty Shop Adri33.  If you click the link, you can see a better image of the Sterling Silver Turtle.  The bracelet has an appealing Gaelic Theme that makes it the perfect accent piece for the Blouse.

Dotty Cluster Tights- by Eloise - Anthro $16 - Aug 2010
Sasha Pump - by B Makowsky - Macy*s Orig $134 Sale $104, FS Promo - Sept 2010
Shiny Leather Caraway Bag in Mauve - Orla Kiely Orig $584 Sale $380 - Feb 2011
Custom Order Sterling Beaded Bracelet - Etsy Shop Adri33 $48 - Apr 2010

It was Jamie of Thrifty Threads I blame for these pumps. I saw her wearing the SASHA PUMPS by B Makowsky in Ivory.  I had been searching for a Black Mary Jane style pump for Month's.  I'm a sucker for the stud detail.

Shop B Makowsky's Sasha Pumps on sale HERE, HERE and HERE.

It's difficult to see the Lavender color in the shoulder ruffle of the Fanned Flames Blouse.  The DOTTY CLUSTER TIGHTS by Eloise are also Lavender, and the perfect excuse to add a level of color to an otherwise Black and Gray outfit. And the infusion of color is even further intensified by Orla Kiely's SHINY LEATHER CARAWAY BAG in Mauve.

Ivory Cotton Blend Cape - by Calvin Klein Jeans - Macy's 2007
This Cotton Blend Calvin Klein Cape is a rare Non-Anthro item in my closet.  The back detail is gorgeous.  Even more so when a bright color is worn beneath.

Fanned Flames Blouse - by Leifsdottir - Anthro orig $178 sale $90 - Jan 2009

Last week I produced only one post.  That was INSPIRATION THAT ROCKS #4.  My goal this week was to squeeze in an OOTD between Inspirational posts.  I did it.

See me wearing this outfit pre-Paseo Leather Skirt HERE.

How do you handle situations like my stressfull Friday?  Have you ever had anxiety attacks?  And more important, I want to know if others get sick from taking daily vitamins.  That is just crazy.

Ugh, now your Friday did not sound fun at all. I know anxiety attacks all too well (had a spell with agoraphobia (sp?) while in college) so I'm sure you were exhausted after that. BUT, you look darn fabulous! Those tights are amazing and I love that skirt.
I never had anxiety attack, I think.. I don't take vitamins so I am not sure but if you felt sick from it, you should stop taking it!! I hope you are feeling better, Laura.

I LOVE the top! If they still had the top in the store, I would totally get it! Too bad I'm a newby at Anthro! I missed out lots of good stuff!!

I've seen the Fanning Flames on eBay before. I'm normally fine with the vitamins if I take them right after a meal. I waited too long.

I am sorry to hear about your panic attack and stomach issue Laura, but on the plus side, you look fantastic in that skirt. I hope you get more use out of it because it is amazing on you. I don't take vitamins (bad on my part) so I am not sure if they would bother me or not.
I used to take One a Day women's multi vitamins but stopped because if I didn't eat enough beforehand, it literally would get me sick, so I'm so sorry about your car sickness!

On the better side of things, I love how you paired that big cozy sweater with the kind-of-tough-kind-of-sweet flirty skirt - you've got a pair of legs that can totally rock that look!

OMG Lisa, you are so
sweet to say such things. I really didn't gift you that necklace so you would. You're such a darling!

I take the same vitamins. Womens One A Day. I get them at Costco. I know they are fine as long as I eat enough. But occasionally they make me pay.

Aw, I just sweet talk you for information- haha!

Actually, I do have a question for you since I've never purchased Leifsdottir items before - how is the fit on them? Do you recommend ordering your normal size in Anthro or sizing up? I've read some reviews that had said that Leifsdottir pieces run a bit small - is that right?
No way! According to Anthro sizing I should be closer to a 6 in skirts. I am wearing a 4 in the Paseo Ruffled Leather Skirt. It fits big around the waist, so I can have it sit low on my hips for more length. I've found that true for all their skirts. That's the best advice I have. Stick to your regular size. However, the minis are 16 inches. So I size up and drop them down. But you are petite so don't really need to worry about that. My blouse is a 6. I could have worn a 4. It was a pop back, so I had to go for it or miss my chance forever.

Thanks for the help, Laura!
Any time Lisa!

I too got sick from the Women's One A Day. I've never been pregnant, but I feel I now know firsthand what morning sickness is like after taking those suckers. BOOM, hot flashes and nausea like a tidal wave!
Anyways, I really love the outfit, especially the skirt and cape!

Yes! Those are the ones. Womens One A Day! My friend Heidi says switch to GNC brand.

So sorry you had such a rotton "vacation" day. I would definitely recommend a "you day". Schedula a massage or acupuncture appt, go pick our a great new book, and order a hot chocolate from somewhere yummy:) That's what I do when I'm feeling overwhelmed/stressed.

Love the outfit! Your skirt is gorgeous. It looks great on you!

I could see this as an excuse to go shopping. Now that's a great substitute for any day. Good or bad!

I hat the womens one a day, they ALWAYS make me sick, no matter what I eat. I switched to MulitVites, they are gummies that work well for me. I never get sick from them anymore!

I love your cape, it looks like a cozy comfortable piece, perfect for the California beaches or the Minnesota winters.

The consensus seems to be that One A Days make almost everyone sick. Did you eat a meal before taking your vitamins. That seems to be the answer. Plus I know that many vitamins can only be absorbed if there is a small amount of fat in your stomach. A banana is enough. Otherwise your money is going down the drain so to speak.

I'm sorry you had such a rotten day on Friday, Laura. That's no way to start out a weekend! I did taxes yesterday, finally. Not exactly relaxing, but I'm so glad they're done. I don't eat vitamins, precisely because they upset my tummy. So do calcium pills. So I just eat yogurt once or twice a day and figure that's enough calcium for me.

But I love to see you wearing the Sasha pumps. You are rocking them in this look. I think the studded details works really nicely with the "tough" edge to the leather skirt (but not too tough. It is Leifsdottir, and it does have a scalloped hem, after all!). And Lisa is absolutely right that you have the legs to pull of a mini!

BTW, I just did a quick closet inventory this weekend, and learned that I have FIVE pairs of studded shoes. Wow. I think I should stop buying shoes for a while. Maybe time to switch to handbags? Because I still haven't gotten myself an OK bag yet : )

You definitely should save up for an Orla Kiely. But I'm warning you, they are a hard habit to break. Although I've seen you sporting a few Kate Spades that have caught my attention.

Heidi says to try the GNC vitamins. If I miss even one day taking my vitamins, I
have pain in my arms and legs.

Sorry to read about your anxiety attack Laura, and also sorry that you got sick as a result from taking your vitamins on a empty-ish stomach. I have never gotten sick from vitamins ever, only the mild side effects from taking iron tablets - yuckky side effects that I won't dare to mention! It totally sucks to be sick on a friday, as it is pretty much the start to the weekend!
Leather usually conveys a "tough" look, but i don't see that here. When paired with the pretty blouse, girlie stockings and mary-janes, you actually look sweet :-)

My little vitamin slip up cost me a day, if not more. Later that night I was doubled over with stomach pain. I finally took a Pepcid and got some relief.

I've never owned a leather skirt. For the exact same reason you state. Tough is not my style. But the super soft leather, scallops and ruffles tame the Black Leather.

Love that skirt on you. You look like a vixen! Watch out! And on the subject of vitamins, yes, my mom always told me to have a full stomach before taking my supplements and I've never had a problem. Hope you're feeling better. And even though this is not an Inspiration that Rocks outfits, you are totally rocking it today. You're a ROCK STAR in your own right!
How do I deal w. stressful Fridays? I don't coz I work on the weekends and I basically wither away and DIE.
Sorry to hear about your day, hopefully tomorrow will be better. I love those shoes!
You look fabulous, as always!!!

I'm so sorry you had suck a yucky vacation day on Friday. I've had a prescription make me ill if I didn't take it with crackers on a small meal in the morning. I was 2 seconds away from getting sick on a crowded subway. Luckily the train stopped and I was able to hop off before getting sick. It was the most miserable thing ever!!

I know the feeling! I was stuck at a red light. I was praying I would not get sick all over my leather seats. I was actually worried more about stinking up my car. And almost all antibiotics will make me sick if I don't eat before I take them.
