What's in Your Macchiato? Engineers Spotted!

It was chilly and windy today, but signs of Spring are evident.

I had to make a deal with the bees to take this photo.

Macchiato Jumper - by Zehaval - Anthro Atlanta Orig $148 Sale $40 - Jan 2011
Haviland Sweatercoat - by Monogram - eBay using EZSniper $96 Dec 2010 - Vintage Anthro Orig $168 from Oct 2007
Vintage Tatted Snowflake Ornament Necklace - Jan 2011
Warm Sugar Bracelet - Etsy Shop MudandMint $43 -

Opal, Calcite, Bronzite, Moonstone, Rutilated Quartz - May 2009

The rich, chocolate brown corduroy of Anthro's MACCHIATO JUMPER by Zehaval, seemed appropriate for a blustery day.  The lacy bodice and hemline like Buttercream for a Chocolate Layered Dress.

I am wearing a 6.  The dress runs small.

By the time I left the Park, my hair was a poofy, wind tossed mess.

More Buttercream in the form of the HAVILAND SWEATERCOAT by Monogram.

I swear, seeing myself in this much sought after Anthro coat is magical. After 2.5 years of loosing auctions on this rare coat, I used a Snipping Service to bid and WIN.  I wasn't even following the closing auction at the time.  This is a completely hassle and stress free way to win.

The idea to wear Anthro's PLUM PAISLEY TIGHTS by Tintoretta with the Macchiato, came from another Blogger.  Please reach out and cyber smack me right in the middle of my forehead, because I can't remember who it was.

Will the originator of this idea Please step forward and take credit!

If I had stepped in front of a full length mirror this morning, I might have reconsidered wearing my CHARLOTTE'S in IVORY by Re-Mix Vintage Shoes.  The light color seems out of place when I look at the full picture.  But when I look at the dress down, the shoes fit the picture.

This is the only Snowflake to hit Bakersfield all Winter.  And it's a beautiful one at that.  Thanks Mom!

Bees were crawling all over these bushes, but not one landed in my photo.

MudandMint is one of my favorite Etsy Jewelry Shops.  The owner went on vacation in 2009.  She was supposed to re-open a few months later.  I'm still waiting for a notification.  Nothing in over 1.5 years.

What about those Engineers?

I spotted a couple of guys and one gal by the lake at RiverWalk Park next to my office.  They had this gadget on the grass.

Gas powered winch!

They were putting this large wood object in the lake.  Initially, I thought they were dredging the lake for a body.  Don't laugh!  People have drowned in the lake before.

They told me what they used this winch for.  I was amazed.

Then it hit me!  I asked if they were Engineers.  Yes, from San Diego State.  I knew it.

Ski Jump - If you look closely you can see the winch line running through the Photo!

They use the gas powered winch to pull them across the lake on Wake Boards.  Ingenious!  They built this contraption and the jump.

Only an Engineer would think of this.  Unlike canal surfing with an automobile tow, this is legal.

You may recall that I submitted my Tax Returns last Monday.  My State refund has was deposited on Saturday.  That is an amazing turn around.

Are yours done yet?  May I suggest Turbo Tax.  It's fast and easy! BTW, I am not getting paid for the suggestion. I just want to help!

I love your outfit Laura! Glad you finally won your Haviland Sweatercoat. It looks beautiful with the Macchiato Jumper. I own the Macchiato Jumper too, and I wore it yesterday with a baby blue cardi. Next time I'm going to pair it with creams like you!

Hmm! I just ordered s Baby Blue Cardi from J Crew. Unfortunately, I'm probably not going to get a chance to wear the Macchiato again before it warms up.

Three Guys and a Gal! I was on my lunch hour. I wanted that sweater more than I still want the Jemima Cardi.

Yaayyyy for the Engineers! ;P
(I am one!)

I love the outfit, and the pretty location. Glad you got the sweatercoat finally!
I haven't worn my dress yet. I need to wear a cami underneath or shorten my straps before I can wear it. Haven't had time to sew it nicely yet.

PLUM PAISLEY TIGHTS by Tintoretta --> I think this pair of tights look like someone has a fungal infection spreading across the legs so fast, in real-time, on every blogger I've seen wearing. Sorry, I love Anthro tights, and also own a few Tintorettas (including the blue and red, big honeycomb patterned wool, super-tight, tights) but not this print/design.

I couldn't remove my sweatercoat for the same reason. So I finally took my straps up tonight when I got home. Also stitched the lace all the way around the top of the bodice. It wasn't sewn well. That's when i discovered the Macchiato Jumper is not by Geminola, but Zehaval.

The Plum Paisley tights look great close-up, but don't show up well in photos. I wear the Tights with the Waffle Weave Dress too. So don't look at those images either. Ha-ha! Just kidding.

A dessert-inspired outfit! Hooray! And of course, cheers for the Vintage Tatted Lace Necklace. And you're wearing one of your pairs of Re-Mix shoes! You are right -- my Naturalizer shoes DO look rather similar to some of the offerings on Re-Mix's website. Definitely bookmarked for further browsing!

And those engineers sure know how to create some fun!

The dessert inspiration was totally ripped off from you.

I want these Re-mix Balboa's on sale. Calling and ordering tomorrow.

WOW! check out that guy on his wakeboard in the lake. You know what they say "only in america" hehe. I've never seen anything quite like that in our local lakes :-)
I'm jealous of your springtime weather. It's been raining and chilly here lately. I love that first photo of you with the purple flowers in the background - great shot! This outfit really suits you Laura and I love the pretty details on the cardi, lace trim of your dress and shoes!
You look gorgeous, Laura! I love what you did with the Macchiato Jumper, which actually has turned out to be an incredibly versatile dress. It's also earned the title as one of my favourite Anthro purchases of the year! I just completely adore it, and it looks so flattering on all different shapes! I will have to try to recreate this look myself :)
I love your outfit! You look great. I bet it feels awesome to finally get something you have been looking for for 2.5 years! I have never heard of a snipping service before. I will have to check it out. How cool is that ski jump? Wow!

Kristin, I used EZ Sniper. First time was free. They bid as you using computer software in the last 30 seconds. You just sit back and wait for the email saying you won the bid. You must be prepared to set your max bid as high as you are willing to go.

I have the link on my side bar. If you use that link it generates a free trial for me. I've had it there for 3 months. No one had used it yet.

Hehe at the engineers, very spiffy. You look wonderful as always Laura, that dress is so cute on you, and the sweatercoat over top is perfect. Yay for spring coming! We will have to give the tights up soon eh?

I'll keep wearing my tights as long as possible to hide scary white legs and baggy knees. Ugh!

I love that sweater coat! I'm guessing from your comments though that it was long sold out....it's lovely, I'll enjoy it modeled on you :)

The coat pops up on eBay occasionally. It's from Late 2007.

there's been one popping up on the EA trade market in a small... I own it and am usually an XS; it works on me though!
Haha! I had to have that bag when I found out Heidi ordered it for you. It's my fab too!

I'm snipping on eBay for Heidi's Jemima Cardi. Hope I win.

How pretty is your backdrop of that pink bush. That Haviland Sweater coat is a lovely piece and looks really nice on you with that Macchiato jumper. I'm hoping to wear my jumper at least one more time before the weather really heats up. Hopefully with my Lace Lover's Booties when they arrive! Hooray for spring! I know all about scary white legs. Mine legs are so white they are almost see-through!

Those crazy engineers.....

I squeezed in the Lolland Sweater Dress yesterday before we hit 85 degrees F this week. Spring has arrived.

How about them crazy Engineers...

Such beautiful spring fever photos! I'm so glad you still feel the love for the Havilland, just as much as when you won it. The Machiatto looks lovely on you, and I'll take one of those cakes to go, too! We finish our taxes in January and submit as early as humanly possible! We still ended up waiting until the end of February to get ours though.
