My Friend and Reader, Joni, is looking for a Size 2 Anthropologie Caranday Dress by Corey Lynn Calter in either the Green or Red Striped colorway.

Anthropologie Caranday Dress in Green by Corey Lynn Calter
Anthropologie Caranday Dress in Red by Corey Lynn Calter

If you happen to see this dress, please contact Joni (jcpollyanna@cox.net) immediately. Joni won a bid on eBay for this dress recently, and the dress never materialized. She is heartbroken. I will do anything to see that she gets her dress  With-in reason! Joni is not looking for The Limited version of the Caranday.

Oh Laura!!!! Thank you SOOOO much! I appreciate YOU and YOUR READERS and if anyone can make the "Magic" of a Caranday Dress happen it's our Anthro Community!! I BELIEVE!!! : ) Just by reading your APB I feel better and it takes a little bit of the 'sting' of disappointment away!

Love you all!

Joni!

It was my pleasure to spend the evening dreaming and reminiscing of Anthro with you.

I'm hoping for some photo's when (not if) you finally have your last Anthro Treasure crossed off your list. Then you will want every Corey Lynn Calter ever made.

Chie Mihara Addicts, Ice Skater's and Bad Toe's Unite! Ha-ha! Your a good influence in a very bad way.

Hi Laura,

Thanks so much for the heads up on the Taylor dresses! You are awesome!!! I got the cap sleeved, brown one, $27 bucks is an amazing deal!! I love Ideeli they always have such good great bargains, but I find I sometimes miss them.

I miss the deals too! I was thinking of making this a Saturday feature. But since Saturdays are normally slow for blogging, maybe Sunday would be better. So happy you picked up a Taylor Dress.

Oh, that must be so disappointing for Joni. It is a beautiful dress and I'll keep on the lookout for it. There are so many ladies wishing for a Caranday on the Looking to Buy post on EA and I hope they all get one someday!

Thanks Kavita! Joni would really appreciate another Anthro Treasure Hunter helping to find a Caranday for her. I can't believe how easily I found mine. Although I'm sure I stole a bid from someone that will still be looking.

Ok now I'm going to cry - but tears of gratitude!! Thank you SO much for your help Kavita!!

what happened on ebay?? i recently saw the dress listed but the seller had no feedback and there was no actual picture of the dress just the stock photo and no other listings, i would love to have the dress as well but i was too nervous to try for that one, just seemed shady...just wondering if that was the one that did not come through for her?? that is such a dissapointment!! that is a dress that everyone seems to want and it seems impossibile to get!!

It's a long story. She also bought a Snake Bite Belt. The Seller even left Joni Positive Feedback. She received a tracking number for the package. It was never delivered. She was able to get an address in Florida and a phone number. When she called she reached a Bank.

PayPal will eventually cover her loss.

I guess I was really lucky to get my Green Caranday Dress. I happened upon the listing because I have an Auto Search set in eBay for Corey Lynn Calter. I set my max very high, so I won. $225. My dress arrived smelling very bad. But the Sellar refunded $10 for dry cleaning. Lucky me!

I hope Joni finds a dress soon. It's the last vintage Anthro piece on her Treasure list.

that is a fair max bid on that dress i think, it is such a highly desired dress....how do you set up an auto search on ebay?? i thought i knew all about ebay ;)
Type a search in the eBay Search Box. Below the search box a numerical count for the listings will appear after you hit Search. At the end select Save Search. You can find all saved searches under My eBay saved searches. There you can choose settings for your searches and have an email sent each day when new listings match your search.

Tip- you can use a (-) sign in front of any word you don't want to include in your search.
For example: you know all those listings that aren't Anthro but include a gift. Search something like this...

Anthropologie Dress -gift -earrings -earring - earing -salve

Salve is the newest gift offered to sneak in the Anthro Line-up. And yes they do spell words wrong just to get in the search.

Do you search on the 10 ways to misspell Anthropologie? Don't forget Anthro too.

Every morning my inbox fills with about 30 searches.

For the Caranday Dress I recommend at least 3 maybe 4 searches. Don't include a size.

Anthroplogie Caranday Dress
Caranday Dress
Corey Lynn Calter Dress
(this will net a lot of listings, but you can't count on a Seller knowing the Anthro Name)
Corey Lynn Calter Green Striped Dress (or Red)

Always check the general Anthropologie Dress with no size that excludes gift etc I showed first.

Anything you can think of will work in a search. Even misspelled words.

Hope this helps!

I hope I am not misleading you. I use a sniping service to bid. They lend you a computer generated bidding application. I am terrible at bidding wars. I just can't win ever. If I really want the item I use EZ Sniper and set my bid very high. I won my Caranday for $225, but my max bid was $245. The sniping service bids the last few seconds. It has never failed me. It can only fail if my max is lower than the last bid. I bought a bank of 30 snipes for $40. If you lose you keep your Snipe. Less than $1.50 per Snipe.

It's very easy to set up. No one knows you are there until you win. I have stolen bids from Readers. But it's the max bid that should win.

Yes Jennifer, that's the one! : ( The seller had great communication after the sale and even 'sold' me a size small grey snakebite belt, which of course didn't make it either. I thought that it just might be someone new who was cleaning out her closet - I tend to think the best of people! I had had a couple of positive experiences on Ebay as well as at Effortless Anthropologie so CAN you imagine how excited I was to win and then heartbroken to not receive it with no communication ever again. Fortunately Ebay is now looking into it for a full refund through Buyer Protection, but I really just want my dress. I STILL believe in the good of people, and I know this disappointment is NOT the end of the world! It's just a dress! : ) I'm going to CHOOSE to still be a "Pollyanna" ; )

Thanks for caring!! It's people like all of YOU that make me smile!!

Joni : )
so sorry to hear that! i hope that you get your refund soon but i am like you i would just want the dress :) why would someone be so dishonest i certainly hope that she does not get to make any money off of the fake sale that she made to you!! no worries, there are plenty of great sellers on ebay and you can find wonderful things this was just a bad deal!! i hope that you get the dress sometime in the future...
Thank you SO much Jennifer!!! I appreciate your encouragement!! : )
I really don't understand how this happens. eBay and PayPal are the same company. Especially since Bank Accounts and Addresses have to be verified. PayPal will know where that money went. Do they make so much money that it's not even worth it to them to investigate such blatant misuse of what is supposed to be a system that protects both Seller and Buyer? How did she get past the check and balance?

I've got more to say, but I will have to split the comment!
Never bid on anything that does not include a photo of a tag. Request the tag photo. Don't bid if none is sent. And Anthro does not cut tags. So don't believe that story if you are told the tag was cut by Anthro. Tags are only cut if the Seller has something to hide.

I'm not blaming Joni. She trusts everyone unless given reason. I trust no one unless they have done something to gain my trust. We are so much a like. But very different in that area. That doesn't make either of us wrong or right. I just want my Readers to realize that there are people out there who are counting on you to trust them. Safeguard yourself by asking a lot of questions. If something doesn't make sense trust your intuition.
Just a quick reminder! I've already told this to Joni. Last week I escaped what looked like a fake Pom Flower Shift trade on EA. It's very possible the other individual never had an actual dress to trade. Hoping I would send mine to her and she just simply would not ever send a dress. I took 4 or 5 photo's of my dress. Specifically the tag that shows the size. It's very difficult to find a photo like that on the internet. I asked her to return photo's of the same. I never heard from her again. And guess what? She now has photo's she could use for a fake eBay sale of a Pom Flower Shift or even a trade. I plan to keep an eye open for those photo's. But she will likely only use them if requested by email. I'm tempted to request photo's for every size 4 Pom Flower I see on eBay. And If I see anyone trying to trade I will warm them.

I got these out of order, but I think you will understand! Please feel free to ask me anything. If I don't know the answer I will try to find out what it is.
YEA Laura!! GREAT GREAT advice!! Too late for this transaction but you can be sure I will be keeping my eyes wide OPEN in the future thanks to your help!!

Joni : )
