Reining in the Easy Keeper with a Cream Confection! The Anthro Domino Effect!

A Reader asked me a few weeks ago how I come up with my post titles.  Most of the time I make up a statement using the names or brands of the Anthro items in my outfit. I could have gone several ways with this post.

Easy Keeper Skirt in Black Motif- by Tracy Reese - Anthro Orig $138 Sale $80 Red Tag $60 - Dec 2010
Thru-The-Clouds-Tank - by C Keer - Anthro Orig $68 Sale $40 - Jul 2010
Fair-Isle-Gloves in Taupe - by Echo - Anthro Orig $48 Sale $30 - Jan 2011
Friendly Terrain Belt Red - Anthro Orig $34 Sale $20 - Dec 2010
Orange Agate and Purpurite on Copper Chain - Etsy Shop fleurfatale $38 - June 2009

For Example:  "The Easy Keeper Gets Creamed," was my first title and would have sufficed. Or "The Easy Keeper Gets Loose with a Cream Confection."  I even thought about "Miss Albright and Tracy Reese on a Mission with Idra." Sometimes the title doesn't morph till the end.

Thru-The-Clouds-Tank - by C Keer - Anthro Orig $68 Sale $40 - Jul 2010
Cream  Confection Coat in Cream - by Idra - Anthro $178 - Oct 2010
Fair-Isle-Gloves in Taupe - by Echo - Anthro Orig $48 Sale $30 - Jan 2011
Friendly Terrain Belt Red - Anthro Orig $34 Sale $20 - Dec 2010
Cockle Shells Tights Copper - by Eloise - Anthro Orig $16 Sale $10 - Jan 2011
Loose Rein Boots - by Miss Albright - Anthro Orig $268 Sale $140 Red Tag $105 - Dec 2010
Orange Agate and Purpurite on Copper Chain - Etsy Shop fleurfatale $38 - June 2009

The Easy Keeper Skirt by Tracy Reese, is made to fit me proportionally. When an Anthro reviewer commented that the fit was meant for a low hip to waist ratio (not hourglass on the bottom) I pounced on both versions when they hit sale and were Red Tagged.

See the Easy Keeper in Black  in a different outfit HERE

The skirt is basic yet appealing with the layered tulip hemline. There is no large detailing, or ruffles to get in the way at the wide waistband. Just tuck and belt over a top.  Add a short Blazer, Cardi or Jacket. Pick tights that coordinate with belt or top.  Slip on boots or pumps and your good to go.  It took me about 30 minutes once I recognized how awesome the tights matched the plaid in the skirt.

Finding a top to go with my outfits is always a sticking point for me. My closet lacks basics, but I am working to remedy the situation! I tried several tops and finally decided on the Thru-The-Clouds Tank by C Keer.  I added an Etsy Necklace in Bright colors, and the Fair-Isle-Gloves, to rev-up the Pink Tank and White Coat.
Cream  Confection Coat in Cream - by Idra - Anthro $178 - Oct 2010
This is only the second time out for the Cream Confection Coat by Idra.  If you own this coat, then you probably hear a lot of  "OMG, where can I find that stunning coat?" Uh-oh!  Wet hair alert.

See me wearing the Cream Confection Coat by Idra in an outfit with Floreat's In The Trees Skirt HERE.

I threw in the yet unworn Friendly Terrain Belt.  The Reddish color is almost a perfect match to the Copper colored Cockle Shell Tights (I couldn't grab these tights on Pop Back fast enough) and the plaid stripes in the Easy Keeper Skirt.

Reversible All Leather Shoulder Bag in Cream/Olive - Olive Side - Orla Kiely Orig $564 Sale $395 AW09 - Jan 2010

I have finally got a handle on how to style the Loose Rein Boots by Miss Albright. This is the first time you are seeing them today.  Anthro had the color listed as Grey.  Oh no!  These are Olive-Brown. They also scratch as easily as the Berry Stitched Boots, and have gone through my Footwear Love Program. You can  find my suggestions for giving love to your footwear on a tab under the Header. This is also the first time you have seen the Olive side of the Reversible Leather Bag by Orla Kiely.  You have already seen the Cream side of the Reversible Leather Bag. Oh Yes! Two Orla Handbags for the price of one.

I happened to notice LC of Bella Seattle wearing the Loose Rein Boots with the Wightwick Manor Shirtdress. She shared her Pop Back in size 4, so I immediately ordered the dress.  Then I saw Keiko of Keiko's TanPoPo (see last photo of her Post) wearing the Shirtdress with the Bow-Tied Beauty Boots.  So I am super excited and worried at the same time.  What if the dress looks horrible on me or doesn't fit?

This is the first time I have found myself drawn into the ANTHRO DOMINO EFFECT.  But that isn't the end! Last night I realized how similar my Cockle Shell Tights are in color to the tights worn by this Anthro Model, who is also wearing the Bow-Tied Beauty Boots.  So now I am looking forward to the D'armee Dress going on sale.  Unfortunately Anthro has added TWO additional colors.

Is this a new conspiracy contrived by Anthro, or am I just now experiencing this EFFECT? Have any of my Readers ever been robbed blind by this ANTHRO DOMINO EFFECT?
Please tell me about your experience with ADE...

I think I kinda like it! My wallet begs to differ!

Oh the fashionable mind of Laura. ;o)

I usually save my blog titles for last too and it is usually some vague song title or a funny/not funny play on what I am wearing.

I've seen a couple of the D'Armee dresses in oliver for cheap on Ebay - I can't speak to whether or not they are genuine, but they may be worth a look since it seems like the real deal will take a while longer before hitting sale now!

And I too suffer from ADE ... my wallet hates it!

Laura, I just love your posts!! They are always so great and make me smile!

I am really drawn to this outfit - it's something that I think I'd love to wear myself; that lacey top and that quirky skirt? Uhm, yes please ma'am!! Might I add that I'm jealous of your boots that you scored on tag sale? They look just perfect with this outfit, and so do those gorgeous gloves!! I contemplated those gloves several times but never bought ... ooh the sadness!!

And that Cream Confection looks just perfect on you as always. I wish mine had worked out because you always look so sassy in it each time you wear it.

Laura, I noticed that, via Lisa, on the Dillards website, the D'armee Dress is on sale in black: I don't know if you're interested, but here's the link: http://www.dillards.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=301&langId=-1&storeId=301&productId=502455447&Ntk=all&Nty=1&splashlink=header_search&Ntt=parameter&N=1000301&searchUrl=%2Fendeca%2FEndecaStartServlet%3FNtk%3Dall%26Nty%3D1%26splashlink%3Dheader_search%26Ntt%3Dparameter%26N%3D1000301&R=03338434&IN_MERCH=true

Happy D'armee hunting! I'd love to snatch it up too!! I'm contemplating the black one myself, but I may just wait for the more colorful ones at Anthro to hit sale sometime ... how knows when!!! Have a great one, Laura!

Ah geez, the Anthro Domino Effect is basically the story of my life!! Haha. Blogs only make it worse; clothes look so beautiful on everyone that it makes me think I need EVERYTHING. I absolutely love what you did with the loose reins boots here; they look fantastic with this skirt (and the gloves complement them perfectly)! I also love that shot of your top half - the necklace and belt work together so well. That top is so pretty....usually I'm reluctant to buy Anthro tops on first cut, but I think I would have made an exception for this one.

The more I see the cream confection jacket, the more it grows on me. You are rocking it!

Ah love it! I think both colourways of that skirt are adorable on you, and they are different enough that they make a different statement. Well regardless of the colour, those boots are adorable. I wasn't a huge fan of them in the product shot, but they seem to be great on everyone so far! Ahh the domino effect, I can agree with that!

Oh, I meant to ask - are the tights still on your wishlist? I'd like to stalk popbacks since mine sadly have a hole in them!

Laura,

I can't be more envious of you right now seeing you beautifully adorned by Loose Rein Boots. I am desperately looking to find these pair... but no luck here..

JG, I can't share the link for the Cockle Shell tights until there is a Pop Back. But I think I found them in the Oct catalog. Don't know what page. You will have to look at the model picks to find them. Mine already have a pull after just wearing for a few hours. BooHoo!

I like to think the ADE as a positive thing. You see a nice outfit or how a piece looks on a real person on their blog and it prompts you to make a decision about whether it will work for you! When things you want are no longer available, though, somehow it makes you want them even more!

Your cream confection jacket is perfect for the fog today :)

Keep having fun with your blog titles!

Lisa and Mandy, I think I will hold out for the D'armee on Anthro in Khaki, although the Black colorway on Dillards is about to get a look see.

Terrie, My Wightwick Manor Dress should arrive any day now. I will post a review for you even though the dress is basically sold out online.

Jess, I just scored the Saddle Seat Boots on Pop Back on 2nd cut. Orig $328 down to $40. I just hope they fit at the ankle. That's 5 pairs of Anthro boots this Season. Yay!

! NO WAY! I love those boots! wow....I am a smidgen jealous Laura...well...If they don't fit, let me know :P I would be more then happy to buy them from you (I think we are the same shoe size?) hehe. I am so glad you found boots that work for you, they are such a workhorse in my closet, and they are perfect for the winter/fall weather along the west coast I think.

Wow, $40 boots?? I'm super-impressed with your popback prowess.

What a shame that your tights have a pull in them already! Maybe I will abstain from ordering another pair, then. I adore the color and texture, but I hate to throw money down the drain. I found a pair of opaque Hue tights in store that are about the same color as the cockle shells (you'll see them in an upcoming OOTD), so I might just stick with those.

I have no idea how I missed the fact that the Easy Keeper skirt came in a more neutral colorway than the orange. I love the orange but the one you're wearing is fantastic too! You look so great and I adore the colors and textures of this ensemble.

Laura, i always find your post titles very amusing. I try to incorporate the name of the Anthro item in my titles, but most of the time, I can't think of any or it has already been used by me (or another blogger).
I really like this colourway of the Easy Keeper skirt! The skirt itself didn;t look great on me, but you pull it off so well.
Don't even get me started on the ADE effect. Everytime i see a new styling on the website, i get a deep, longing yearning. A yearning that i didn't know was possible!

JG, As I recall the Thru-The-Clouds Tank got a 2nd cut to $20. Funny thing about that tank. C. Keer (is an Anthro Brand if I'm not mistaken) placed two of the flower applique's precariously right over the napple area. So the first couple of colorways didn't sell very well. Then someone wized up and read the reviews.

Jess, Pamela of Ginger Girl gave me ADE with her most recent OOTD. I am flat broke. Keiko is the one that sent me a text this morning (I could almost hear her yelling at me) that there was a size 8.5 in Pop Back on the site. I could'nt log into my Wish List fast enough. I was sure they would cancel. But guess what. they shipped tonight. Hopefully they will fit. What will I wear them with? What am I saying. I always figure something out don't I. Take the Loose Reins I am wearing today. It was 2 weeks before I was happy wearing them with an outfit. And now I have the Wightwick Manor Dress coming. Thanks to LC for sharing her link with me for the dress. I will give Both LC and Keiko plenty of blogger love when I style them in a Post.

Jesspgh, The EK Skirt in the Black Motif was a sleeper. I actually think it's more fun to style than the Orange Motif.

Jen, When my son Camden was young, I used to make of songs for everything we did. I think my title writing talent (if you can call it that) stems from all that singing. We had a song for when we used to feed crickets to his lizards. We had a cookie eating song. All his stuffed animals each had a song. A dinner song and a bath song too.

Karen, Karen, Karen,

Ah yes! My one and only Bakersfield No Anthro Zone Soul Mate. You were the one that asked me about how I made up my Post names. I remember!

Before I started Blogging I think I called CS for a Store search one time. And I ended up taking that item back to the Fresno store. Now I am calling at least twice a week looking for stuff that got away. I will probably have to break down and buy the Southward Stop Dress on eBay. Dang it! LC of Bella Seattle Tried to find one for me. No such luck. The mark up is insane. So I prabably will let that one go. A year down the line I will find one for $30.

I love how you've styled this outfit. I am looking forward to seeing the Wightwick on you...I hope you like it as much as I do. Great job on snagging the boots!

TanPoPo said...

YES!!! You got them! I am so glad!! Mine will arrive soon, so you'll see OOTD in my blog before you get them!! WooHoo!
Now I want loose rein too.. You and Kim made me want them! I am stalking my wishlist.. lol

Cream Confection look really lovely on you, btw!! I think, D'armee Dress in khaki is the cutest.. I tried it on couple times and I love them. I actually got it full price a week ago but I just returned it after I bought all the boots. haha
The weather here got warm this couple days.. and long sleeve dress would be kinda too hot to wear, so the dress should go on sale ASAP or nobody will want it anymore!!

LC, I heard the Wightwick has some give. so hopefully it will fit. I've gained a few pounds over the holidays. First place it goes is the gals. About 1 lbs each! egads! Maybe more.

Keiko, I was just going to email you and tell you the good news. I hope we both love our $40 Thrifty Anthro Boot find. I'm thrilled. And thank you so much for sending out the alarm this morning. I would have missed that Pop Back for sure out in the oil field most of the day. I was so happy to see that shipping notification.

Hmmm retry on previous comment hehe. I was looking through your "closet" and your new cardigan, the loose reign cardigan or Fisherman's Companion Sweatercoat, with waffle weave dress, and the saddle seat boots maybe? Maybe your plaid tights too...
