Where There is Love, There is Life! I Can't Drink a Macchiato, But I Can Wear It!

Happy Monday to all you lovely ladies!  And if there is one item I want from an Anthro's Sale (if there is a sale) tomorrow, it's the D'armee Dress in Khaki.

Why do I love thee, let me count the ways...backward...

#5  Khaki is the color of the day.
#4  Who could say no to Military and Shirtdress all rolled into one.
#3  The ZIP front makes this dress GAPOSIS FREE! My girls will celebrate!
#2  I already have the Bow-Tied Beauty Boots and those Dark Red Opaque Tights in the bag.
And the #1 reason is...

Anthro D'armee Dress in Khaki - by Parameter - Orig $138
Opaque Tights in Red-  by Hue - Sale $6.50
Bow-Tied Beauty Boots-  by Lucky Penny - Orig $248
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS DRESS FOR FIVE SOLID MONTHS.

COME ON ANTHRO!  The dress is NOT selling well.  It's fairly basic with a few cool details.  But it's not stunning. The reviews are only FOUR star. If you think adding two new colors will make me CAVE FULL PRICE...YOU'RE NUTS.  The truth is, if you wait too long, it will soon be too warm to wear long sleeves. You will end up giving these dresses away on 2nd CUTS.

Any one else with me on this?  I'm just sayin'!

Drawn To You Cardi - by Lilka - Anthro Orig $68 Sale $40 - Jan 2011
Macchiato Jumper - by Geminola - Anthro $148 Sale $40 - Jan 2011
Perfectly Plaid Tights - by Eloise - Anthro Orig $18 Sale $10 - Nov 2010
Bowtied Beauty Boots - Lucky Penny - Anthro $248 - Nov 2010
Vintage Tatted Snowflake Ornament Necklace - Jan 2011

I pounced on the Drawn To You Cardi the minute it hit sale.  True, I already have many Ivory Cardi's.  But none as flattering, or versatile as this one. In love with the cropped back!  It arrived the usual wrinkled mess.  I untied the draw strings, stretched them out flat and waved my magic wand over it.  All smooth and pretty now.

I wasn't hugely in love with the Macchiato Jumper at $148.  It's cute, but not FULL PRICE cute! When it went on sale, it suddenly became very cute.  But still not $70 cute.  So I added it to my Wish List.  Then I saw it had suddenly dropped to $40 in my Wish List.  Suddenly it was the most gorgeous dress I had ever seen.  And totally sold out!  So I called CS for a store search and found one in Atlanta GA.  I sized up one size. It just needed a bit of touch-up with my magic wand.  And Wallah!  I got me a very sweet dress.

Macchiato Jumper - by Geminola - Anthro $148 Sale $40 - Jan 2011
See Keiko of Keiko's TanPoPo wearing Anthro's Macchiato Jumper HERE.

I pretty much copied the lovely Keiko's outfit.  Except I morphed her Plaid Coat into the Perfectly Plaid Tights.  And those tights are so perfect with Anthro's Bow-Tied Beauty Boots I could not resist the pairing again.

It's true!  As much as I love FuFu coffee, my stomach can't handle the acid the coffee is processed with!  Boo-Hoo! I have Spiced Cider from Starbucks instead.
Perfectly Plaid Tights - by Eloise - Anthro Orig $18 Sale $10 - Nov 2010
Bowtied Beauty Boots - Lucky Penny - Anthro $248 - Nov 2010
Aspen Leaf Tote - by Orla Kiely AW09 - Garnet Hill Gifted - Dec 2009

See me wearing Anthro's Bow Tied Beauty Boots and Perfectly Plaid Tights HERE.

All I needed to complete this outfit is my Orla Kiely Aspen Leaf Tote from Garnet Hill. BTW,  Garnet Hill is fantastic to deal with.  Orla Kiely sold this bag for $385 full price.  Garnet Hill had it for much less, although I don't remember the original Garnet Hill price.  The sale price was $199.  Much less than Orla's sale price.  And Garnet Hill put the bag on sale before Christmas.  One month before Orla.  A few days after the bag was purchased the price dropped to $150.  I called Garnet Hill, and was credited back $50.  So if you see Orla Kiely on Garnet Hill.  Keep an eye on it.  You're bound to get the best price.

It's a Pre-Anthro coat!  I haven't worn this since early 2008.  So today I'm giving an old coat new life and much love.  Embroidered on the inside lining is the phrase...

Where There is Love, There is Life!

Yesterday we had this freakish afternoon rain shower.  It cleared out the gloom.  My babies started clamouring for some late afternoon sunshine and fresh Green grass.

I absolutely adore the Macchiato Jumper dress! It looks so great on you, and I love the outfit you came up with. I, too, bought the dress although I ended up spending too much on it. I bought it at the first cut price and then my husband spilled a ton of red wine on it. I spent money taking it to two different dry cleaners who couldn't get it out, then I tried using a red wine remover which ended up turning the lace blue. Finally I gave up and ordered another one! I couldn't live without it, I just love the lace bodice. Anyway, I'll have to style it sometime soon and post photos on my blog as well. You just look so darn cute!

Thanks Carly! That is one of my biggest fears. Ruining an Anthro Dress that I love. Then having to stalk eBay for a year to replace it. Thank goodness there were still some dresses so you could replace it. I hope hubby bought the replacement for you.

Looks great on you! I finally caved on the Macchiato jumper too, ordered a 4 which was too small but I managed to snag a popback of the 6. Hope it works! MewTwo is adorable!! Such fluffy cats!

My dress is also a 6. I'm a 34 D and it fits fine. I was advised by Keiko to size up. It's actually a little loose at the neckline. So I have to be careful not to bend over or the girls will fall right out. Ha-ha!

Love the lacey look of the top of the dress with the ruched cardigan. Yes, if the d'armee dress makes it to sale this weekend, hopefully it will be in stores still! I am heading down to Seattle to work on some paperwork and house hunting, so there should be an anthro stop-over at some point in my near future, and I would love to pick up that dress in the blue version (though the khaki would be ok too!). I just want to run up and cuddle MewTwo too, so fluffy and cute!

Oh! A trip to the States. If you see LC in one of the stores, tell her hello. I have a feeling Anthro is going to make us wait on that dress. And I still have a $50 Gift Certificate from 5 weeks ago.

Now Heishe is the cuddler. MewTwo, not so much. When she throws down the Thriller Look, it makes people run. Needless to say she lives up to her Pokemon name sake.

I just checked the online stock for the D'armer Dress. 65 size 4's and 84 size 6. That's a lot for having been on the site for so long. The dresses aren't selling. They are going to go on sale soon. Although the website is a bit low on some things. But not dresses.

Yay thanks for the update Laura! haha well ok maybe not to cuddle, but I am glad it was a pokemon name, and that I wasn't just thinking it was. Something is up with the Canadian anthro site, can't add things to my shopping bag, and things in it at the moment have no prices. Hopefully they fix that soon, or else it will be difficult to stalk things online :(
So you were thinking she was named after a Pokemon? Good! My stepson named her. Eleven years ago Pokemon was huge with my boys. She's not mean or anything. She can look unapproachable to strangers though. She does cuddle with me.

Boo to the Canadian Anthro site.

Gorgeous! I love how this outfit looks so interesting even though it's really only two colors; you use textures and patterns masterfully here.

Why thanks so much JG(H)! What a nice thing to say. Ah! But the Plaid tights have a stripe of Bright Green. Not easily seen mind you.

I agree! I almost posted that in my blog. Come on, Anthro!!
Did I tell you I tried all the colors the other day. The Charcoal was kind of dull, and Navy actually looked good on, made me look slim, but I still think Khaki is the cutest. I am getting that dress too when it hit sale!!!

I love how you added the plaid tights! You look lovely in the dress and boots!!

I love your little Ivory sweater you styled the dress with. The Drawn to you Cardi was as close as I could get to that sweater. I did a switcharoo on the Plaid Tights. I really love the little bit of Green stripes in the tights. Plus I think your trench us pretty awesome. I missed out on that one.

I'll try plaid tights with the dress next time<3

<DIV></DIV> <DIV>I'm definitely going to check out our gargantuan F21 this weekend for that little sweater. It's adorable. So me! Oh and so you! You and I would have so much fun shopping together. Either that or we would be fighting over the last item we both want. I think you are my clothing twin.</DIV> <DIV></DIV> <DIV>I may have bought that coat in 2007, but sometimes it looks so1980's to me. Looks like someone Pimped my coat instead of my ride. Ha-ha! I probably won't wear it for another year.

lol and I'm gonna loose my boobs when I'm done with breast feeding. How sad is that...
<DIV></DIV> <DIV>I breast fed my son for 14 months. Went from a D to a C after that. I was so freakin' happy. But breast feeding is great because you can eat like a pig and loose weight. And of course more healthy for baby.Just watch out when you stop. My son bit the heck out of me on Mother'sDay.He just up and quit. I was sosad, and unprepared. And one up for you for doing it. I love that. You are like my long lost twin only way younger than me.

<DIV></DIV> <DIV>It's not a favorite OK! It's very different from her other bags. I don't think it's made nearly as well. It's a mix ofhalf vinyl and half leather. but it does serveit's purpose. And I picked it up for like 65% off. I still see it on eBay though for over $300. I got it for $150.</DIV> <DIV></DIV> <DIV>Did you ever try to re-install ID as a template?</DIV>From my Yahoo Mail - Laura <DIV>

Oh this outfit is so cute! I picked up the Macchiato Jumper too (also went a size up). I am so mad at myself that I haven't worn the Bowtied Beauty Boots once after all the waiting I did, and then ordering them at full price even! I *love* the plaid tights with the boots.

<DIV></DIV> <DIV>Wear those Bow-Tied Beauty Boots LC! Don't feel bad. I paid full price also. Trythem with theMacchiato! I was surprised how well it worked with the plaid tights too. I am waiting patiently for the D'armee Dress to wear with the Bow-Tied.</DIV> <DIV></DIV> <DIV>I have had the Saddle Seat Boots ($40 down from $328 and Italian to Boot)for 5 days.Ha-ha! And I can't get comfortable with an outfit.Page 29 of the September Catalog, the model is wearing the Saddle Seat Boots with theWaffle Weave Dress. I tried it and it seemed just OK. I wish I could see what else she was wearing. I'm so confused sometimes. But I know something will pop-up out of my brain when I least expect it. If I force it, a styling will never happen. So I must practice patience. OHMMMMMMM! </DIV> <DIV>

Wow, I can't believe you scored it for $40!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! INSANE! WILD! I need to call CS too! And it looks smashing paired with your Bowtied Beauty Boots. p/s - cute kitties! Does The Boss Cat rule the house?
1 reply · active less than 1 minute ago
Oh yes! The Boss cat rules. She sleeps where she wants. Usually her own bed, but sometimes his. He gets mad. The other night he was in her bed, and got out to get a drink. She got in it when he left. When he came back they had a hissing match. Then he sulked under a chair for awhile. She was sleeping in her bed next to me. I was asleep too. Suddenly it sounded like a herd of buffalo came pounding across the bed. He landed on top of the bed, she started screaching at him. I had to pull him off the top of the cat bed. He had all 4's dug into the fabric. I was worried he was going to hurt her the way he landed on top of her. After that she was hissing at me too.

Do you need the style number for the Macchiato Dress?

Laura, I hope the D'Armee dress goes on sale for you. I know you've been blogging about it for quite some time now so I just know how much you really want it! The macchiato jumper was such a steal - good thing you got it as it looks really sweet on you. I love it with plaid tights and boots. Yay for the sunshine! Your kittens are so adorable!

I know you wear a lot of Black. So branch out ML. Start with a rich Macchiato and Cream.

The D'armee Dress still didn't make sale this morning. I'm so bummed. But I did get a necklace I have been waiting on for 6 months. Cut from $200 to $50. A Wendy Mink no less. So I'm not that bummed.

Start by modestly adding color. Jeweley, tights, a bright Blue tank under a Jacket. You would look fabulous in Jewel tones.

What a fantastic deal on the Macchiato Jumper. The reviews said that the fit was a bit wonky, but the dress looks like it fits you to a tee. The skirt of it reminds me of the Tria, which is a very good thing. Did I ever tell you my Tria woes? Months after it was sold out online, I spotted on in store, in my size, when in SoCal for Xmas. But marked at $128, as opposed to the sale price of $70 (before the 25% discount). SA wouldn't honor the true sale price, even though I showed them my printed wishlist showing the price. I should have bought the skirt at full price and contacted CS afterward to make it right, but that didn't occur to me. By the time it did, the skirt was not to be found. Bummer!

And what a fantastic phrase to have printed on the inside of your jacket. That would give me reason to smile every time I wore it. Much better than the phrase printed on the fly of Lucky Brand Jeans: "Lucky You." Clever and cheeky, but a bit crass.

And MewTwo?! What a fantastic name! I am thinking of the Pokemon character...

Yes, she was named by my Stepson after the Pokemon character MewTwo! That DB Sport Coat is a bit much. I was so attracted to it at the time. Not so much now. But in honor of Lisa Respect the Shoes Outfit Posts, I'm trying to give love to some of my old cloths still lurking in my closet.
