A Waffle Over Lunch! Free Shipping is Back!

First order of the day.  Free Shipping is back at Anthro over $100 through November. I plan to drink a Margarita tonight in celebration. WooHoo!

Waffle Weave Dress - by RicRac - Anthro Orig $118 Sale $60 - Nov 2010
Jackie Cardi in Bright Cinnamon - by J Crew - Orig $62 Sale $50 - Aug 2011
Palisades Belt - Anthro Orig $44 Sale $10 - Oct 2011

This is what I wore to lunch with my son and his new girlfriend today. I received Anthro's Palisades Belt ($10) in the mail last night. I had no idea I would love it so much when I picked it up on Pop Back.  I'm particularly partial to the rich color of the leather on the front. So what better than to put together an outfit this morning that centers on this belt.

Anthro's Palisades Belt Reveiws HERE. Available on eBay HERE.

How do I put together an outfit on the fly from a belt?  I hold it up and pass it over my dresses.  At which point I settled on Anthro's Waffle Weave Dress by RicRac in rich Deep Plum.

See my alternate style for the Waffle Weave Dress HERE.
See tons of fun styles on totally cool Anthro Bloggers HERE.

I found two listings on eBay for the Waffle Weave Dress HERE.
The seller is asking for the original $118 for the dress.  That's crazy business if you ask me.

I added Anthro's Tree Rose Cuff in Lime to bring out the Green in the Palisades Belt.  Funny that my Review was at the top when I Goggled the cuff.  He-he!

Bowed Lacerta Mary Janes - by Miss Albright - Anthro $168 - Sept 2011
Sepia Crocus Bag - Dark Multi-Stem Shiny Laminate Tote by Orla Kiely AW08 - Anthro $178 - July 2008
I bet you are all just dying to hear about Camden's GF.

In my last Post I mentioned that I wear my Bowed Lacerta Mary Jane's often.  This will make twice in one week.  When I saw the November Catalog and the Tegu Platforms I did a double take.

The Tegu Platforms by Schuler and Son's not Miss Albright
I find them very similar to the Bowed Lacerta's by Miss Albright. The color combination is intriguing.

The Bowed Lacerta Mary Janes by Miss Albright

I have no quibble with owning both pairs of shoes. The description states they are by Miss Albright.  But it turns out they are actually by Schuler and Son's, which tend to run narrow for me across the front.  Too bad there is no vamp strap to keep these on my narrow heels.  But I do have my stretchy shoe bands.  However, I discovered yesterday that they are far more obvious when you wear them over tights.

Have I tortured you enough about Diana.  Oh, I suppose I haven't yet told you her name.  She is completely opposite of my son.  He is tall, thin, and Blue eyed.  She is short, Rubinesque, and dark eyed.

He told me yesterday that he "Loves her to death."  Not sure how to read that.

As I expected she's bright, but also a little shy. I could tell his displays of affection were making her uncomfortable in front of me. Neither of us are used to that is seems.  I certainly don't disapprove. They are young adults.

The most surprising bit of information is that she is a Pre-Med student.

OMG!  Camden had better get his act together fast.  He works at JBX and has no plans to attend college at this time, despite my offer to help. Diana is working as a floater at Sears while attending school. The same position I held while attending college to be a Dental Assistant years ago.  Go Diana! I already love her.

Aw my sister's name is Diana, great name :) She sounds lovely! It also sounds like the meeting went well. Chances are he might get his butt in gear if he decides he wants to, more so with her going to school. Great color combination going on, love the belt and dress together.

Jess,

She is a sweetheart. Camden had better get a move on. He claims he isn't ready to make a career move. I tried to tell him that taking a few classes and seeing a counselor would at least give him some ideas about a career choice. Computer languages are definitely something he is good at. We all know they aren't going anywhere. It would be a great choice that is always in demand.

Amazon.com has the booties in black under the name Chie Mihara Women's Yandal Bootie. And chiemihara.com has them in Whiskey/Bronze. I know it's not the same but I thought I'd let you know anyway.

Thank you Brenda. Yes I have seen the Yandal in Black at various online Shoe stores. I am holding out for the Red.

These Seychelles shoes also reminded me of the Lacerta Mary Janes: http://www.zappos.com/seychelles-spacebar-whiskey Guess it's all about the bows this season. Hope you get your Asterisk Booties!

Don't want to give you false hope, but I've had a few recent popbacks go on "backorder" initially that did eventually ship.

Great outfit choice. I purchased the Tagu platforms yesterday as soon as I heard about the free shipping. I got the 5 and 5.5; I hope one will work out. I can't wait to see the color in person. Glad the meeting went well....so exciting.

You must let me know how they fit. Did you know they were Schuler & Sons before you ordered them? Or did you think they were Miss Albright? When I first looked at them I could see the S & S signature lock from side view. So I wondered about the description. I probably would have already ordered them if they had a vamp strap.

I love that color combo--so perfect for fall! Now I want a cinnamon cardi...

J Crew's Bright Cinnamon Jackie is the perfect color for Fall. I purchased it on sale online about a month ago. So they are sold out. Unless you can catch a Pop Back. Or find one in a store.

I am in love with this entire ensemble. The rich fall colors! The printed bag! The adorable shoes! You look fantastic.

I am so excited also for your son. It sounds like Diana and your doting son are both great catches!
What a cute outfit! I absolutely love the color palette on you! And I am SO totally in love with those new shoes...the Tegu Platforms. They need to be in my closet ASAP! =)
Love the fall color palette here, Laura. The belt proved to be the perfect starting point for this outfit, and at $10, you are already whittling down the cost per wear.

Diana sounds like a sweetheart! Glad the lunch seems to have gone well -- I remember being so, so nervous to meet BF's parents 7 years ago. And now I see them almost every day!
Your fall color combination is fantastic! I think your accessories, especially the Orla Kiely bag, really make everything pop!

Thanks Eek! I adore my very first Orla Bag. It goes with everything. And it continues to remain in great shape even though I use it 5 days out of 7.

Thank you for adopting that bunny! It warms my heart when people take care of animals and especially when they adopt and save them! The world needs more people to do that!!!!!!

Hi Laura,
What a proud Mom you are! Sounds like your son has chosen a girl with a good head on her shoulders. I just got back from visiting my son and wanted to share with you that he is taking Geology this semester, loves it, and now wants to major in it! That rocks!
-Karen M
P.S. Love those Mary Janes on you. They really pull that cute outfit together. Those new Schuler & Sons shoes rock, too!
amazing look! Love all!
Thank you for inspiring my outfit today!! I paired my Waffle Weave dress with a mustard Jackie cardigan, my Nimble Paisley belt, a pair of army green tights and my Bowtied Lacerta MJs. I never would have thought of that colour combo without your post!
We could have been twins. I've worn the Nimble Paisley with this dress too. The Bowed Lacerta MJ's are sweet on versatility aren't they?
