OMG, You made me laugh for real...
It just happened to me as well.. I was gonna return this sweater I got from my local Anthro the other day, I took it off from my hanger, and tried to put it in a bag.. then realized the "THING" was on it!! I do have a receipt but it made me nervous.. especially I just wanted to return the item..
For some reason, it didn't beep when I bought it. It's really scary..
BTW, Laura, if you see prized rose peep-toes in 7.5 somewhere, can you please let me know!!

Happy Birthday and Merry Christmas!!

Oh man, I have such a fear of something like that happening and me not noticing! Happy birthday, and Merry Christmas too!

Terry and Keiko, No way this happened to you too. What are they thinking. It;s so much harder to deal with when there is no Anthro to take it off for you.

Keiko, Just send an email to anthro@anthropologie.com and ask them to search for the shoes. They will return email and you just call the store and request them to ship to you.

Lady Cardigan, I guess this proves why I would prefer to get all my Anthro from the online warehouse. No risk of this sort of thing happening. And the cloths are usually in good condition.

Now all I have to do is decide if I should ship it back or spend $50 in gas and a 4 hour car ride to the Fresno CA store. I think ship and let Anthro credit me for the shipping. but darn it was part of my Christmas outfit.

Oh no Laura! Haha that happened with my DVF dress, they left the sensor on it when I got it form nordstrom rack, but I didn't notice until I was back in Canada...we ended up getting it off at home, but we were nervous. I was lucky that it was a magnet sensor and not the ink one. I am sorry for your christmas outfit though :( do you have a backup plan now?

Laura said...

Jess, Do you think it's a magnet. Then my son could remove it right? I have more back up than I need. I would rather not have to remove it. but the store told me to return it.

Thanks, Laura. I emailed Anthro just now.. Hope I'll be able to order it tomorrow morning!!

If you don't have a store close by, the THING is a nightmare!! That sucks so bad.. it'd take time but I think you should return it than risking ripping the cute jacket ><

Keiko, My 22 year old son has itchy fingers when it comes to stuff like this. He was ready to get all his tools and prey that device off. I had to throw him $20 and tell him to go eat somewhere to his hearts content, so I could get the Jacket away from him. Ha-ha! He lives for money and food. I will take it to UPS in the morning and find something else to wear for Christmas.

In case you want a replacement, that sweater is available online in most colors and sizes (S, M, L in purple), it's just hidden. I'm debating ordering the green.

Laura, First of all Happy birthday to you! I wish all the Anthro Goodness for your birthday! and that security tags totally happened to me the other day... So I had to head back to the store and get it removed.. SA were embarrassed but they were kindly enough to give me some additional discount for their silly mistakes!

Happy Holiday!

Ahahahha!!!!! You are HILARIOUS!!! If it makes you feel better, that happened to me, except I left the store with it! I can't believe the alarm didn't go off. They left the sensor on my Lost Time Skirt, those silly ladies! In their defense, I was having a lively conversation with them, and it was probably distracting, LOL.

Happy Birthday again :)

I guess the Anthro store folks didn't want you to miss out on the full store shopping experience so they "thoughtfully" included the security tag!

I think you're going to look lovely in that purply gorgeous jacket - happy holidays!

Have a wonderful birthday Laura - I hope you do something really special. :)

I know that having that plastic security piece is annoying - that happened to me once too on a charge send, where they forgot to remove it. Think of all the different looks you could achieve with it ( ha ha)

I know it is really annoying in your situation as you do not live near an Anthro to get it rectified quickly. I am sorry!

hugs

I was laughing so hard at this post. Especially since I just TRIPPED trying to get to the door to get my hands on a package. I hope you get that sensor off your coat! At first glance I thought it was a button.

Happy, Happy Birthday!!! I can't believe Anthro left the sensor on your jacket. Boo on them!

I like your collection of ornaments. I see one that I recognize :)

Kelly. You are most observant. You must have carefully looked at my photo. Now I am on a hunt for The fisherman's Companion Sweater Coat in a Small. Online has re-called it. My outfit arrived minus the sweater.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LAURA!!
Hahahaha....this is so funny actually. Of all days, it had to happen on your birthday! When i first saw that picture, i had no idea what it was, i thought it may have been a spare button for the jacket or something.
Luckily, this has never happened to me and i hope it never will. the scary thought of having to return it back to the US from OZ.
Hope you get it sorted, and enjoy your day!

Happy Birthday! That has happened to me once, but luckily I live near an Anthro and was able to take it in to have it removed. Of course, I had to show them my receipt so they didn't think I stole it. Try the Reston, VA store for your fisherman's companion sweater. They had a whole rack of them as of yesterday.

Happiest of birthdays to you, Laura! I hope you get just as much Anthro for Xmas as you did for your bday!

When I first read your comment on my post with a vague mention of the new free "accessory", I started to get a teensy bit jealous (see, I still haven't gotten the complimentary clear bangle, so I feel like Anthro is withholding baubles from me!). What a hassle that the sensor was left on.

I actually saw that jacket in the Newport Beach store and contemplated getting it. It is certainly cute! But I decided that my purple cardigan would do the trick for styling with the EK, just as you suggested. BTW, I was able to snag an EK at the $60 price from the Irvine Spectrum store. They had a 4 and it fit...but the zipper was broken. The 6 is a bit loose at the waist, but I discovered that I can fold the waistband down, and it eliminates most of the problem (so long as tag is covered with a belt!).
