| Giddy Necklace in Purple - Anthro Orig $42 Sale $30 - July 2011 |
Every once in a while, it's fun to style in reverse. That's what I did with Anthro's Violet tasseled, crochet covered, faceted plastic, bead bedecked Giddy Necklace. Like mixed up berries strung out on a dainty looped Gold vine. When shook it makes a quiet jingle only you will hear.

Orig $42, Sale $30
I took a spin through my Closet holding the Necklace up in front of my cloths. I could have referenced the Color Wheel on the background of my Desktop. Please tell me that you Gals keep a Color Wheel handy for reference.
Less than a minute later I found harmony for the Violet Giddy Necklace. Anthro's Jaqueline Dress in Chartreuse. On the Color Wheel, Yellow and Violet are directly across from each other. They're complimentary. That explains why the dress and the necklace are pleasing together. As an added bonus, the Ivory bodice breaks up the outfit. I wouldn't want to blind my friends and co-workers in passing.
Did I go overboard by pairing J Crew's Cashmere Cardi and Anthro's Quelusia Heels? Too much Violet perhaps?
Next time I might try my Jackie Cardi in Radiant Orchid with Anthro's Infinite Loop Sandals for a toned down, casual variation of this outfit.

Orig $194, Sale Price $136
I've worn my Half Slip from Etsy's A Slip Shop 3 times in two weeks. You don't need to be tall to enjoy a touch of lace along the hemline.
What inspired your outfit today? Did you find something you loved at the Anthro Sale?

University of Anthro! Positive Rotation and a New #1 Dress!
![]() |
| Anthropologie's Fragrant Valley Dress by Corey Lynn Calter |
I set out early Friday Morning for the campus of my Alma Mater. It was the final day of my week long Ops Geology Class. The focus for the day on the role of the Ops Geologist in Drilling.
Fragrant Valley Dress - by Corey Lynn Calter - Anthro Orig $198 Sale $99 - June 2010
California State University Bakersfield (CSUB) Amphitheater
It was time to break out a new spin on my morning photo routine. I'm certain you will see a noticeable change in my rotation. Perhaps more like my former self. I worked my faithful tripod and camera remote. Does this pose above remind you of Super Woman preparing to lift the Amphitheater into the Blue? I wasn't going for that. It's my way of saying TGIF.
I graduated in 1994 with my B.S. in Geology (Environmental Studies) and accepted my diploma on this very same slab of concrete, minus a roof. CSUB hosts the Bakersfield Jazz Festival on this very spot. By day and under the stars.
I'm wearing Anthro's Fragrant Valley Dress by Corey Lynn Calter. This dress alone, can correct negative forces, and reverse a spin in the positive direction.
It falls #3 on my All Time Favorite Dress List. Unfortunately booted from the #1 spot by a Half Sister the Atlantic-Pacific Dress from Modcloth now in the #2 position.

Um...no that isn't the Robot Johnny 5 from Short Circuit.
It's the lean shadow of my haphazard photographer. Today he has managed to cast his shadow away from me. I'm completely to blame for his shadow blunder HERE.
Are you wondering what Dress has rocketed to #1?
The answer it imminent!

I had no idea The Fragrant Valley Dress had Flower Seeking Capabilities. Not only that, it appears to seek it's own kind. Irises. Such special powers are spared for Anthro's Shining Eddie Bracelet by Tataborello.
I stopped here to Enjoy.

I digress back to Thursday. At which time I am wearing Anthro's Sailboat Skirt by Odille with the Who's-Got-The-Button Top by Pilcro in White. The sizng is true. There is a narrow section up the front and center that is slightly sheer, with a double layer on each side. The sides under the arm are also single layer and sheer. You will need to layer over or under.
The Ops Geology Class focused on Pressures and Fluids in the Drilling Environment. During class I noticed a Young Gal wearing Anthro's Amplified Stripes Blouse in Red. If it pertains to Anthro, it qualifies as note worthy.

Today I had the opportunity to meet up with a Local Reader. Allison is from the Small Mountain community of Lake Isabella, an hours drive to the East of Bakersfield. She and her 3-year old son Brady met me on campus to pick up the En Plein Air Dress that was too Small for me. We chatted for a few minutes. She has the most gorgeous Red hair and perfect skin tones to show off the Brilliant, Colorful Print of Eva Franco's Dress. She was a pleasure to meet. I hope to see her again in the future.

I Love You...and Chie Mihara's
| Polka Peppered Dress - by Maeve - Anthro Orig $148 Sale $80 - May 2010 Tosmo in RED - by Chie Mihara - Far Fetch $329 - 041611 |
Today someone asked me if I liked you. I laughed, and I said, "Ha! That's funny!! I freakin' LOVE that chick!! She's funny, caring, crazy as heck, sweet, beautiful, and she's reading this blog right now and; I love her!!" I received this awesome "I Love You" from my friend today. If your reading, Thank you Kelli. Every year I allow myself one pair of Chie Miharas. On sale of course. The year was 2008. It was the first time I had ever seen a pair of Chie Mihara's at Anthro and on Heidi. I lusted for Antho's Savoy Slingbacks by Chie Mihara. When Anthro finally put them on sale, they were still too expensive for me to afford. Months later, I found mine at Nordstrom online for 70% off. The last pair of size 38's for $103 They didn't even come in their original box. I didn't care.
In 2009 I lusted for Anthro's Needlework T-Straps by Chie Mihara. When Anthro put them on sale at 50% off, I didn't bat so much as an eye lash over the price. See me wear them HERE The year was 2010. I didn't even see these until they hit sale in early January. That's right, Anthro put this pair of sandals on sale in the dead of Winter. It happened so fast Heidi has been kicking herself ever since. I think this color was an Anthro Exclusive. I searched for Heidi, and was only able to find them in Taupe Suede. Which doesn't come close to Anthro's Pearl. BTW, instead of the leather wrapped heal that Anthro described, these arrived with a versatile stacked wood heel. See me where them HERE It was late 2010 when these showed up in an Anthro Catalog. I would make these mine the minute they hit sale. I must have been asleep at the wheel or something. But that's OK! All the reviews said they ran very narrow up front. My foot is narrow everywhere, but the front. |

| Anthro's Ribbon Swell Heels- by Chie Mihara - 2010 |
I'm over them...
It was instant love when I found the Tosmos at Chie Mihara's Online Store. The only size available was UK 41. I was heart broken for a minutes. Wait! Google to the rescue. The best price was $358 out the door from farfetch.com. And DHL didn't even charge me a VAT fee or a surcharge for importing them. They arrived last night from a little boutique in Sienna, Italy in 4 days. They are perfect in every way.
My Red Suede Shoe Crave is now fulfilled.

Asos had them in Lavender for $421, they are now OOS. View HERE
All my Chie's are a size UK 38. I normally wear a US 8. So they run 1/2 size large. US 8 normally equals a UK 38.5. Size down 1/2 size. Here is today's OOTD really fast.
I'm in a Well Review most of the day today. I have to prepare. I had more to say, but I'm running behind Ladies.
Do you love Chie Mihara's? Do you love Red Suede Shoes? Tell me about them.

No Anthro Zone Review! Tracy Reese! Oh To Be Admired!
No Anthro Zone Review: Powdered Pigment Dress - A Plenty by Tracy Reese
Not in a thousand years could I have planned this photo. Heishe's sweet little whiskered face, staring in rapture from the edge of a picture. He had been stomping, purring and circling the stool where my camera was sitting. Desperate for my attention. I see from the camera angle that he managed to bump the stool and turn the camera in his direction. His appearance in my photos always makes me smile.
| Powdered Pigment Dress - by Tracy Reese - Anthro Orig $228 Sale $129 - March 2011 |
"Anthro's Model shot of this dress is atrocious. The bodice looks all wrong. Does this photo look off to you, or is it just me? And try not to notice how wonky my belt looks. My rib cage makes it difficult for me to hold a non-stretch belt in place.
Despite having no faith in this dress ever working for me, I took a chance. The thin Silk is just asking for every bump and roll to pop-up and wave Hello.
SIZE: Online reviews suggested this dress runs large through the bust. So I crossed my fingers and ordered a SIZE 4.
I'm 5'6" Tall, 34C-D, 130 lbs, 35-28-36, larger than average rib cage. Normally a problem when sizing down.
I'm 5'6" Tall, 34C-D, 130 lbs, 35-28-36, larger than average rib cage. Normally a problem when sizing down.
FIT: This is one carefully planned and executed T Reese FROCK. I'm a 6 in most dresses to accommodate my larger bust and rib cage. The 4 is a perfect fit. Bra strap isn't visible across the open back. A well placed strap keeps the shoulders in place. The fit is perfect through the bodice. Perhaps slightly snug at the rib cage as expected for me. The arm hole length is spot on. The cowl slightly low. Don't bend over or the girls will high five. Length grazes my knees.
DETAILS: I have come to appreciate the BRIGHT COLOR PALETTE over the last few months. The faux wrap front is a little strange. Stripes don't match up at the waist. A belt will nicely cover that issue. I am wearing this minus a slip. You can't see through the thin SILK. The cowl is a bit floppy. The dress looked best ironed.
I see many possibilities for this dress to be styled YEAR ROUND. With or without tights. From Strappy Pink Sandals to Sky Blue Platform Pumps. Along with solid Cardi's in Vintage or Sweater Coat length.
Prepare to see me wearing this styled several different ways over the ensuing Spring and Summer months.

Fem Ballerina Meets Quirky Lumberjack! The Bakersfield Fog!
I crossed my Fem Ballerina with her Rugged Side Kick today. UPS delivered these Suede Booties last night. I love them so much, I had to wear them today.
I was going for a style similar to the Anthro Outfit on the left. I think I hit the mark in my own way. I shopped my closet for the Maiden's Braids Cardi by Moth and the Cohort Corduroys in Lilac by Pilcro. I don't know what she's wearing on her feet. And her pants may even be the the Cohort Corduroys.
These boots are available in one size only. So, if you think you might want these boots on Pop Back and maybe even 2nd cut a few weeks down the road, I suggest adding them to your Wish List from HERE right now. The October Catalog has already been overwritten by February. They might Pop Back to the Sale Section if a few pairs are returned. But Anthro has been scatter brained about that in the past. Although I have noticed lately they are starting to do this more often. And you will have the Style Number if you decide to have CS search them in store.
Magic Carousel Necklace and a pair of sparkling earring made by my Mother.
Normally I skip OOTD's on Tuesdays. Everyone is usually engrossed in an Anthro Sale. Including myself. But since there was none today, my plan worked out nicely.
Everyone should recognize the Maryam Tank by Little Blue Bird in SAND. I lost my patience a few weeks ago waiting for sale. What am I going to save? At the most $30. IF ithe tank ever makes sale. Two colorways have already Sold Out. I'm hoping Anthro will bless us with the Black version again. Pretty Please!
Shop Anthro's Maryam Tank by Little Blue Bird
I imagined the Upended Ankle Boots by Boutique 9. After all, those were the inspiration for putting the outfit together. |

Magic Carousel Necklace and a pair of sparkling earring made by my Mother.
Most days I don't need a coat during the Winter in California. Not true today! So meet the Heron Basket Weave Jacket by Tracy Porter I picked up for $20 last year. Also Anthro's Kennett Gloves by Portolano and the 100% Cashmere Springing Scarf by Sayami. Because not only is it cold, but the dreaded Valley Fog has rolled in this week.
I hope everyone on the East Coast is are safe and warm today!

A Modcloth Frock Strikes an Anthro Pose! Shopping My Closet!
I am so delighted to say, I shopped my Anthro Closet to outfit Modcloth's Frock Ballad Dress in Angie .
Even better news, I re-mixed a second outfit for the dress.
Modcloth. I haven't ordered a dress outside Anthro and Athleta in almost 3 years. Modcloth has great customer reviews, thorough descriptions, and the standard measurements for the dress were dead on target. Modcloth's Frock Ballad Dress in Angie , size Medium, fits like a dream come true.
Modcloth please. The dress is fully lined and closed at the hem, with huge deep pockets, and button detailing including the back of the collar. Zip closure is at the back. Dry Clean Only. Silky, smooth blend of 80% Rayon and 20% Poly. Not my favorite, but I love the dress so much I don't care. And the waist for once sits at the right position. Length is to the knee.
Dark Stem Shiny Laminate Tote AW08 . See my side bar for all the State side stores that stock Orla. The Fall Winter 2010 Collection is now going on sale. Loraine of Sweet Anthro Dreams scored a nice Laptop bag yesterday from PerriBerri.
For a POP of Orange color I went with Anthro's Dreaming in Stitches Booties by Everybody.

| I wish I could actually unbutton the back of the collar so I can lay a continuous necklace under the cowl neck. |
I belted over Modcloth's Frock to draw in the waistline for a more flattering look using Anthro's British Poise Cincher . I upped the warmth factor with Anthro's Roadway Tights by Eloise . Then folded over a pair of Navy polka dot socks to stay extra warm. Heidi informed me several weeks ago that Anthro's Sweet Shop Necklace was awesome with Navy. So there you have it. The Blue pin on the coat lapel, I found under my Entertainment Center several months ago. I have no idea where it came from. Imagine that!
I had already pictured Anthro's Earhart Bomber by Idra as the perfect topper for the Dress. I love the Salmon Pink houndstooth weave, and I just don't wear this little coat very often. So I was pleased at how great it looks against Navy. At the last minute I remembered
Does this all sound a bit corny or what?
