No Anthro Zone Review! Tracy Reese! Oh To Be Admired!

No Anthro Zone Review:  Powdered Pigment Dress - A Plenty by Tracy Reese

Powdered Pigment Dress - by Tracy Reese - Anthro Orig $228 Sale $129 - March 2011
Opaque Tights in Brown - by Hue - Anthro $12.50 - 2009
Lass & Laddie Oxfords - by Poetic License - Anthro $98 Sold Out - Aug 2010
Green Line Satchel in Ochre SS09 - by Orla Kiely - Orig $598 Sale $398 - July 2009

Not in a thousand years could I have planned this photo.  Heishe's sweet little whiskered face, staring in rapture from the edge of a picture.  He had been stomping, purring and circling the stool where my camera was sitting.  Desperate for my attention.  I see from the camera angle that he managed to bump the stool and turn the camera in his direction. His appearance in my photos always makes me smile.

"Anthro's Model shot of this dress is atrocious. The bodice looks all wrong. Does this photo look off to you, or is it just me? And try not to notice how wonky my belt looks.  My rib cage makes it difficult for me to hold a non-stretch belt in place.

Despite having no faith in this dress ever working for me, I took a chance.  The thin Silk is just asking for every bump and roll to pop-up and wave Hello.
SIZE:  Online reviews suggested this dress runs large through the bust. So I crossed my fingers and ordered a SIZE 4.

I'm 5'6" Tall, 34C-D, 130 lbs, 35-28-36, larger than average rib cage. Normally a problem when sizing down.

Eighteen Karat Belt - Anthro Orig $58 Sale $30 - Feb 2011
Fresh Catch Cuff in Mauve - Handmade in the USA - Anthro Orig $258 Sale $130 - Dec 2008
(14K gold fill, Opal, Amazonite, Christophase)
Straw Makers Earrings - Orange Carnelian and Purple Jade - Anthro Orig $38 Sale $20 - Jun 2008
FIT: This is one carefully planned and executed T Reese FROCK. I'm a 6 in most dresses to accommodate my larger bust and rib cage. The 4 is a perfect fit. Bra strap isn't visible across the open back. A well placed strap keeps the shoulders in place. The fit is perfect through the bodice. Perhaps slightly snug at the rib cage as expected for me. The arm hole length is spot on. The cowl slightly low. Don't bend over or the girls will high five. Length grazes my knees.

DETAILS: I have come to appreciate the BRIGHT COLOR PALETTE over the last few months. The faux wrap front is a little strange. Stripes don't match up at the waist. A belt will nicely cover that issue. I am wearing this minus a slip. You can't see through the thin SILK. The cowl is a bit floppy. The dress looked best ironed.

Anthro's Engla Trench Meets Modcloth Dress for Cocktails and Caviar!

I have several Anthro Brand IDRA coats, but this is my first Elevenses.  Meet Anthro's Engla Trench!

Engla Trench - by Elevenses - Anthro Orig $199 Sale $100 - Jan 2011
Pin Dot Tights Brown - Carmel CA Anthro, Sale $5 - Apr 2010
Lass And Laddie Oxfords - by Poetic License - Anthro $98 Sold Out - Aug 2010
All Leather Green Line Satchel in Ochre - by Orla Kiely SS09 - Orla Kiely US Orig $598 Sale $398 - July 200

It's Shinny!  Has an exposed, off center, Gold zip! Non functioning double row of buttons! Machine Wash, Tumble Dry! Which I did last night so I didn't have to iron out all the wrinkles. A few discrete ruffles both front and back. Elastic wrist cuffs. Lovely Moss color, that is Brown or Green depending on the lighting. And Pockets!
Funny thing I read in an online Anthro Review.  The blogger stated she reviewed the Engla Trench as a reader request. She also claimed the coat had fake pockets that were sewn shut.  Not true! Ever heard of a small sewing tool known as a SEAM RIPPER?  I'm surprised that a blogger didn't know that manufacturers intentionally sew pockets shut on jackets and coats.

Oh yes!  Modcloth dress number two!  Meet the Cocktails and Caviar Dress.  Deep Dark Green! Exposed back zip. This is the same brand as the Frock Ballad Dress. Nicola!  Both dresses were a perfect fit in Medium.  And flattering on me as well.  However, this dress is 5 inches shorter than the Frock Ballad.  Look Out!

Anthro's Horizon Cardi - by Guinevere - eBay - Apr 2010

But the most fantastic detail is the Pop-Up flower.  It's completely edged with zipper. That's right!  Zipper along the Empire waist too.  Isn't this the most fantastic dress you have ever seen for $70?  Unlike Anthro dresses that run $128 and up full price, I don't have to wait for sale to afford a dress from Modcloth.

Stone Garden Necklace - Anthro $178 (Freshwtr Pearl, Serpentine, Citrine,

Since it's chilly in the office for a sleeveless dress, I'm wearing Anthro's Horizon Cardi.  But the Pop-Up, zipper bedecked, flower detail tends to get in the way of wearing a sweater. I rolled the buttoned edges of my sweater to the inside and fastened with safety pins to make a bolero.  Seriously, can you tell I did this?

I hadn't even planned to wear any jewelry.  This morning I happened to see Anthro's Stone Garden Necklace inside my glass case.  I knew this necklace was an excellent choice to jazz up this outfit with some brilliant natural stone color.

Now for the Grand finale.  I used to save jewelry for last.

I've been holding out on the Lass and Laddie Oxfords.  I purchased these months ago to go with Orla Kiely's All Leather Green Line Satchel in Ochre. Then I waited for the perfect outfit to come along.  It finally did. And what could be better than Green polka dot Pin Dot Tights by Eloise?  The $5 price tag!

And now I must get to work dear Readers.

No Anthro Zone Reviews - Lass and Laddie Oxfords plus Many Roads Booties on Sale

Psst:  Lisa at Respect the shoes is giving away an Anthro necklace.  But hurry over and comment on her post for a chance to win, because the contest ends Friday Sept 17th 10pm EST.

Ladies.  These Oxfords are selling out and will never see the Anthro sale section.

I must mention that my pinched nerve disappeared last night.  This has happened before, only to return the next day to haunt me.  So far so good.  I return to work tomorrow. Please forgive the grainy iPhone images as I await the arrival of my new Kodak from eBay.

Anthro's Lass and Laddie Oxfords...
When I placed my order, all sizes were available, and there was only one review that did not address sizing.

Shop these shoes from Anthro here.

Keep reading to find out where to shop these shoes for the same price, with free shipping, in all sizes...

As of yesterday, 3 sizes are sold out and do not show backorder dates.  There are now 16 perfect 5 star reviews. If you want them, it's best to order them now.  You really can't beat the price.

I plan to wear these shoes in one of a series of Babergh Dress outfits.  That's my story, and I am sticking to it.  They are perfect with the styling I have planned.

See me wearing and reviewing the Babergh Dress here.

Shop the Babergh Dress here.

DETAILS:
Brown Cotton Tweed rests on Modern Yellow Leather
Wide Deep Brown Satin Ribbon Lace-Ups
Butter Soft Leather
Wearable 3.5" Leather Wrapped Heel
Leather insteps are blazing Teal and Gold over a soft padded foot bed
Synthetic sole is brilliant Purple with Teal lettering
True To Size or slightly big

SIZE - Unfortunately I ordered one 1/2 size up from my normal US 8. I received UK 39.5. I was playing dress up in my Mother's shoes.

Please remember two things that will SAVE YOU MONEY when re-ordering anything from Anthro in a different size.
1. Call CS and ask that a Courtesy Return Label be emailed to you.  This waves the standard 5.99 for return fees.
2.  Mention that this is a re-order and request to have shipping waved.

FIT - You can clearly see the 1/2 inch gap at the back of the heel.  Despite the large shoe, I was able to determine that I would not topple in the 3.5 inch heels. But my heel was slipping up and down, and my foot sliding all around. I immediately re-ordered my normal US 8. Luckily I ordered these while FS was in effect. I am an average B width, only slightly wider across the front of the foot. I have no doubt my foot will be comfortable in the re-ordered size. I also found plenty of wiggle room in the toe box. The arch support is moderate and the shoe is highly flexible for comfort when walking.

A fabulously detailed Vintage shoe by Poetic License that does not disappoint. No need to worry if Anthro is out of your size.

Zappos has all sizes for $97.75 in both Yellow and Black here.

Anthro's Many Roads Booties/Sandal...

Many Roads Booties - by Zita Maria (Italian) - Anthro $198, sale $100 - Sept 2010

You can still buy them in limited sizes in glorious Purple here.

Yes! I chickened out on the Purple. I went with the brown for versatility. Neither the color, not the shoe disappoints.

As cute as the model shot is, I'm smart enough to know that the Anthro paired dress would not work for me.

DETAILS:
Rich dark brown leather with whip stitched edge (Purple if you are brave)
Wearable 3" stacked leather heel
Flexible padded foot bed
Whole sizes only
Order 1 whole size up (for example: if normally a US 8, order UK 39)
Back zipper that works freely

SIZE:  I wear size US 8. My foot is a regular width although slightly wider than most across the front. I ordered UK 39's.

FIT:  Perfect!. These are exceptionally comfortable. The textured leather is soft brown. I didn't find the darker leather straps cheap looking as some reviewers online suggested. In fact, the straps are nicely finished, flexible and soft. You don't even need to use the buckles. There is a back zip.  The entire shoe is clean and free of defects.  Very well made.  There are no rough or jagged edges anywhere on my pair.

The heel height is very wearable in size 39.  Absolutely no pinching or rubbing on foot or toes. And they are cute on. The foot bed is soft and padded, and the front of the sandal is flexible for walking.

I treated my new booties to a coat of Mink Oil which turned them slightly darker for about 24 hours.

Be daring and order the Purple, because the Brown are gone. If I were younger, I would.

Say high to my beautiful and fabulous MewTwo.  Does her Pokemon name date her?  She is just over 10 years old, and very well mannered.  Although watch out if she throws a Micheal Jackson Thriller look on you. Most days she camps out under the bed and snores loudly.  Her favorite foods to play with are green grapes and green olives.  She loves to lick the vinegar off the olives.

I was unsuccessful finding reviews for either pair of shoes.  Do you know a Blogger who has reviewed either the Lass and Laddie or the Many Roads?

Were you already planning to purchase either pair of shoes? Are you now going to purchase either pair after reading the reviews?

What can I do that would make my reviews better?
Are they too long?  Too short?  Just right?
Do I need more images?
Do you want to see OOTD's of these shoes in the future?
Would you want more online links to shop the shoes?

Since I don't have a store within a 2 hour drive, would you like to guest review on ACC?
