A Waffle Over Lunch! Free Shipping is Back!

First order of the day.  Free Shipping is back at Anthro over $100 through November. I plan to drink a Margarita tonight in celebration. WooHoo!

Palisades Belt - Anthro Orig $44 Sale $10 - Oct 2011

This is what I wore to lunch with my son and his new girlfriend today. I received Anthro's Palisades Belt ($10) in the mail last night. I had no idea I would love it so much when I picked it up on Pop Back.  I'm particularly partial to the rich color of the leather on the front. So what better than to put together an outfit this morning that centers on this belt.

Anthro's Palisades Belt Reveiws HERE. Available on eBay HERE.

How do I put together an outfit on the fly from a belt?  I hold it up and pass it over my dresses.  At which point I settled on Anthro's Waffle Weave Dress by RicRac in rich Deep Plum.

See my alternate style for the Waffle Weave Dress HERE.
See tons of fun styles on totally cool Anthro Bloggers HERE.

I found two listings on eBay for the Waffle Weave Dress HERE.
The seller is asking for the original $118 for the dress.  That's crazy business if you ask me.

I added Anthro's Tree Rose Cuff in Lime to bring out the Green in the Palisades Belt.  Funny that my Review was at the top when I Goggled the cuff.  He-he!

Bowed Lacerta Mary Janes - by Miss Albright - Anthro $168 - Sept 2011
Sepia Crocus Bag - Dark Multi-Stem Shiny Laminate Tote by Orla Kiely AW08 - Anthro $178 - July 2008
I bet you are all just dying to hear about Camden's GF.

In my last Post I mentioned that I wear my Bowed Lacerta Mary Jane's often.  This will make twice in one week.  When I saw the November Catalog and the Tegu Platforms I did a double take.

The Tegu Platforms by Schuler and Son's not Miss Albright
I find them very similar to the Bowed Lacerta's by Miss Albright. The color combination is intriguing.

The Bowed Lacerta Mary Janes by Miss Albright

I have no quibble with owning both pairs of shoes. The description states they are by Miss Albright.  But it turns out they are actually by Schuler and Son's, which tend to run narrow for me across the front.  Too bad there is no vamp strap to keep these on my narrow heels.  But I do have my stretchy shoe bands.  However, I discovered yesterday that they are far more obvious when you wear them over tights.

Have I tortured you enough about Diana.  Oh, I suppose I haven't yet told you her name.  She is completely opposite of my son.  He is tall, thin, and Blue eyed.  She is short, Rubinesque, and dark eyed.

He told me yesterday that he "Loves her to death."  Not sure how to read that.

As I expected she's bright, but also a little shy. I could tell his displays of affection were making her uncomfortable in front of me. Neither of us are used to that is seems.  I certainly don't disapprove. They are young adults.

The most surprising bit of information is that she is a Pre-Med student.

OMG!  Camden had better get his act together fast.  He works at JBX and has no plans to attend college at this time, despite my offer to help. Diana is working as a floater at Sears while attending school. The same position I held while attending college to be a Dental Assistant years ago.  Go Diana! I already love her.

Last night I received a text that an old friend of 30 years was searching for me.  Along with the text came her number.  She screamed when I said "is this Kelli Sue." That made my evening and is why I am behind on my comment rounds.  But after 11 years we needed some catch up time. And friends are important.

And now for more friendship news. Collette at Statements In Fashion wrote wonderful things about me on today's Friend Friday Post.  I'm a true and genuine blogger that she follows.  Thank you Collette.

The big beautiful Dragonfly!

Collette came to my rescue when I asked for help a few months back with a Readers Challenge.  Since that time we connected in a special way that often happens when two bloggers find common ground. She is a naturally gorgeous woman, and has the Fashion Industry by the tail. And I was so excited when I saw that she has added me to her blog roll.

Collete recently entered the ELF Modeling Search. Of course I voted for her.  So please visit Collette and help me thank her by giving her your vote for the ELF Contest HERE. She is currently ranked number 20 out of over 900 entries.  That is just remarkable.

Shoelace Collar Coat - by Tracy Reese - Anthro Orig $288, Sale $150 - Jan 2011
Let's get rolling with a No Anthro Zone Review for the Shoelace Collar Coat by Tracy Reese. Anthro Orig $288, Sale $150. Style #19145028. Sold Out.

I know you are wondering ...why review a sold out item?  I have had several requests to review this coat. If you have this coat in your Wish List, I guarantee there will be Pop Backs in the next 2 weeks. And you could call CS for a store search. The style number is 19142058.

Is this more of me than you can handle?  The collar was the attraction for me.  And Kim at Fashion Momma wanted a better look at the collar.

I think a few will be returned over sizing issues.  One Anthro reviewer suggested 2 sizes up, another suggested one size down. Luckily I stuck with my True Size 4 for T Reese coats.  I am 5'6" tall, 130 lbs, 35-28-36, narrow across the shoulders with shorter than average arms for my height.  Yes Readers, I have gained an inch in my waist and 5 lbs over the holidays.

PINK POLY.  Oh well!  IN THE POCKETS TOO!
If you are small through the chest you may want to size down. The coat just closes over my chest, but is fairly big elsewhere, although this is a swing coat, so don't expect it to be fitted. The sleeve length is perfect if not an inch too long.  The length is well above the knee so I'm not cut off by the coat and made to look dumpy. The drape is gorgeous and would certainly look equally stylish with a dress.

Beware the puffy sleeves if you are broad shouldered.  This detail will emphasize!  The collar is by far the main attraction for me.

The coat is flattering closed!  Although I could crease the collar to get it to lie flat if left open.  I did spend about 10 minutes ironing the coat.  It smells fine and is clean.  The T Reese tag was still attached so I can be assured this was not an online return. The coat is of excellent quality.  Not a stray string or loose hem to be seen.  the lining at the hemline is closed. The shell is 50% wool, 50% Poly.  I know, but it's the new Poly and the coat is soft and not rough or itchy at all.

This was not offered in Petite sizing.

I'm going all the way with a full 5 star rating.  I can't mark down for the Polyester.  It's done to well, and kept the price point down.  The fabric blend will hold up longer, and not pill.

Now for today's TGIFO.  Thank Goodness It's Friday Outfit!

Do you like the one shoe up, one shoe down look?  I wanted you to see how these great little Miss Albright shoes can be worn zipped up or down. Are you ogling the Turquoise Cashmere Socks.  A gift from Mom at over $70 a pair.  Ack!  They were too small for her. And I am so grateful.  My feet don't get too hot or too cold.  They are ultra soft.  Get them at customshirt1.com.
